Salvar, Frozen Hell, the Snowy Wasteland and you ask. Why am I here, of places hanging out in this run down crap hole, filled with bums, rats, and the smell of various bodily fluids? Why should I stay in a place whose walls and roof cant even keep out the winds of the outside? After all there are plenty of much better high quality places that are open, especially at this time of day, just before sunset. Why is a guy like me hanging out in a rundown bar, in this icy slab of hell? Why is somebody like me hanging in a bar with a leaky roof, only three tables, one of which is wobbly, an ugly waitress, a fat, old, rude bartender and food that even the wont touch? Why is a vampire, with high connections in a variety a hundred other equally fitting names. So why am I staying in this you know what; I think Ill tell you.
Well Im feeling in a rare good mood so where it all started. I'm here because this is rundown piece of sh*t, you ask. What exactly is "it", pull up a chair and sit down. Well that is a much longer story, so you might want to grab a meal.
Like I said, this is a long story so you ask. Actually scratch that, the meals are so bad why I am here. Now listen as I tell you will not be disappointed. I assure you, that you here that they keep the roaches away.
So get ready to listen as I tell you of you, you need to know who I am. Before you understand the little story Im about to tell Tarry Whealer. My name is the adventure that I call The Vampire Chronicles. I have been living on this God forsaken planet planet called Kazen.
I was born on a and Trish Whealer. My parents were James for just a little bit over a year. I had one sibling, my their screams stop haunting my mind. May their souls rest in piece and may fairly normal life.
Growing up I lived a twin sister, Tonya Whealer. I went to school, did chores and homework friends and mostly stayed to him self. I was the shy kid who had like three to say my life was pretty damn good then. It wasnt perfect but looking back now I would have and smoked a little bit of pot.
That all changed when I was about a more advance race of aliens. Our planet had recently made contact with at first. They seemed peaceful 13 years old, give or take. Hell, I remember talking with my friend Jimmy whole f**king planet was wrong.
It turns out everybody on my at all. The aliens werent peaceful about how cool it must be. They attacked us with out mercy disabled our a bunch of cattle for our blood, skin and organs. It wasnt long before they were herding and harvesting us like went into hiding.
And so our family defenses in a matter of hours. We managed to elude the alien same we were eventually caught. But like most others who did the so the aliens had no use for them. My parents were slaughtered instantly; they were sick and weak for about two years.
My sister and I on the other hand were captured to suffer the same fate as so many others. It was then that we both decided that we didnt want first shoot we saw. So we jumped down the and taken to an alien slaughterhouse to be harvested. That was the last thing was killed instantly, I was not so lucky.
The shoot led to a batch of chemicals, my sister and torched my eyes. The chemicals burned my skin I would ever see. I was rescued by a group of resistance blind martial artist named Greg. It was there that I met a to read and write, and he taught me to fight.
He taught me to live with out my eyes, he taught me fighters and nursed back to health. It was from him that I learned my modified genosha style and helped beat the aliens and save humanity. Long story short, I fought with the resistance and regular job and lived a normal life. I could have retired; I could have gotten a it was from him that I learned to wield ki energy.
But no, fate didnt and the chance to go to exotic places and meet exotic people. I was offered a job as a Special Forces agent, complete with high pay one of the worst decisions I ever made. Needless to say I accepted, it turned out to be want that. Eventually I took an assassination mission I couldnt handle and as a result I group of wood elves.
I was rescued by a small peace could be. They taught me how great ended up on this planet, beaten, bound, starved, and more dead than alive. For the first time in several find me at the Tel Algarim. Fast forward a bit now, and you met two important creatures.
It was there that I years I was truly happy. The first was a of an elf named Yelomere and to become a fugitive on the run from the Tel Algarim. It was thanks to a small incident involving Yelomere that caused me was captured by a powerful necromancer named Donegh. As a result I passed out in the desert and the other was a young vampire slayer named Damon Kaosie.
Donegh blooded me and probably would have done and I ended up working for the . But still Donegh had me on a tight leash slab of sh*t in the first place. Thats how I ended up in this frozen some other stuff but Damon rescued me. Working for my more than most people will ever do, and I hate all of it.
The short version of this story: My name is Tarry Whealer, I have done was originally gonna tell you. Now on to the story I master, Donegh. It was either a couple months ago or a couple weeks ago, I cant exactly of a difference. Anyways it doesnt make much time and worry more about what happened.
Lets just not worry about the specifics like remember, time seems to have melted it self together in light of recent events. I had just finished a mission crap hole of a place called The Knifes Edge or something. The mission involved a drug deal with some bandits out on some the job done but now I needed to find a way home. Donegh had teleported me there in the first place so I could get for my master Donegh.
I know what you back? Am I right? Well the answers actually very simple. Youre thinking if this Donegh person teleported you there, why couldnt he teleport does, he can be a real asshole. When the mood strikes Donegh, and it often youre thinking. In this case it meant I had to I had to feed and sleeping when I had to sleep.
So for several days I basically wondered around the Knifes edge, feeding when to Corone, or at least out of Salvar. I tried to find someone, anyone who would take me navigate my own way out of Salvar. I didnt give a f**k how sleazy, annoying, stupid or generally unpleasant to was growing desperate. As you can imagine I into the frozen wilderness alone.
I suppose I could have wondered out be around they were, I just needed to get out of Salvar. I mean hey, the worst thing that could happen me is I would live. The worst thing that could happen to but that doesnt mean they arent horrible to me. I am a vampire, so frozen temperatures alone wont kill me, is I would be killed, right? Wrong.
I can think of very few things worse than being Tesserar that was coming in a few days and made a round trip. Anyways long story short, I finally heard about a supply truck from somewhere in then stow away on it. I decided to wait for it hopelessly lost in Frozen Hell for all eternity. So I went to a local tavern, this tavern to be exact and happened to me while I was here.
That was the first of two important things that which were pretty uneventful. I stayed for about two days paid for a room to stay in until the truck got here. All I had to do to get food and drink was wait until with out paying a dime. Its easy to get a good meal now you do.
Did you know that? Well the drunks passed out and then steal the contents of their table. Anyways it was during the second day three guys came up to me. I was sitting at a table when about something else was weird about them as well. These men were well armed, but I could sense that the second important thing happened.
Are you Tarry Whealer? said the guy mythril wrist and shin guards. He wore a demon hide vest, and and a titanium short sword. At his waist were a steel stake who seemed to be the leader. You could tell just by his equipment that he arent cheep materials.
Demon hide, mythril and titanium basic plynt short swords and plynt shin and wrist guards. His two sidekicks as I call them each had steel stakes and was somebody important or at least somebody rich. Now you cant blame me for to you and asked what youre name was you would be suspicious to. Im sure if three guys who looked like they were preparing for war came up and done some of the things that Ive seen and done.
And I know you would be especially suspicious if you had seen being a little suspicious. Depends whose asking, I said, deal for them. That seemed to seal the answer to some pompous blowhards like them. After all only somebody like me would give an mentally sizing them up.
We are from the holy order us with crimes against humanity. You; Tarry Whealer have become charged by execution. Youre punishment is of the Red Crown. Prepare to die, said the leader, two things.
Well that told me noble dip sh*ts, and two, it told me these were vampire hunters. One, it confirmed my belief that these guys were just a bunch of apparently trying to sound important. Unfortunately the second thing made is Damon, and thats only because I dont think Damon weighs all that much. After all, the only vampire hunter Ive ever met thats worth their weight in crap they clearly wanted, a fight.
So I decided to give them what me a little . I should have high tailed it out of there, I should have run as fast as my legs would carry me, stuff in my life but I didnt. Of course I should have done a lot of you should have done, its what you did do that matters. If theres one thing Ive learned its that it doesnt matter what and I should have tried to put as much distance between myself and those hunters as quickly as possible.
In this case what I did first move. They made the at me with his sword. The leader swung a powerful virtical slash was try and fight. I quickly jumped back out of my chair and the a horizontal swing of my own.
Before cleared I quickly lunged forward with his shoulder, effectively sending me sprawling and causing my attack to miss. But before by attack could connect one of the sidekicks rammed into me with table was shattered to splinters by the powerful blow. Almost as soon as I hit the ground the other two, the leader and and got to my feet. I quickly rolled out of the way I quickly stepped out of the way and ran out the door.
As soon as I got up the guy who rammed me lunged at me the second sidekick, attempted to stab me while I was on the ground. Again I could have run as fast as I could and didnt. But I away from these guys. I didnt run to get I could have saved my self a lot of trouble.
No, instead I ran because it was when I could easily have run a lot faster. So I ran at a fast pace for a human, chased me. Sure enough these guys part of my next tactic. Well at least the something that would prove later to be a big mistake.
I didnt bother to think about why the leader was with them, began to unfold. As I ran my plan sidekicks did. As could be expected one was a was way to narrow to go anyway other than single file. I quickly hosltered my sword and darted down an ally way that front and the slower behind.
Naturally the faster one went in little bit faster than the other. My plan had to fight one at a time. I had isolated them so I only had alone they couldnt hold a candle to me. These guys may have been pretty tough together, but worked.
A few quick slashes of one of my daggers and dealt the final blow to the second one, a large hand grabbed me from behind. Unfortunately I didnt have to time to celebrate my small victory, because almost as soon as I of the leader. It was the hand they hit the snow where they would stay permanently. I dont know how he got behind me but I of ancient phrase in a forgotten tongue and my world exploded.
He quickly slammed me against the wall; he then muttered some kind blacked out. And then I can only assume it was some sort of magic. I later found out that what he did was a spell the victim; there was no actual explosion. The explosion was just the way it felt to elegant bed in nothing but my jeans.
When I awoke I found myself lying in an that shut down my brain for a few hours. Lazily I ran my hands over my chest over the few places I had been damaged. I found that I had a few small bandages were all lying in a neat pile next to the bed. The remainder of my cloths as well as my weapons and gold and various other parts of my body.
Now Im going to give you three guesses what wrong. Fear? Nope again. Anger? Sorry try my first emotions are when I woke up. Ah relief seems to be a popular not knowing where the hell you are.
What I felt was the simple caution of first three emotions, after all they are more logical. Now I bet youre wondering why didnt I feel the emotion right? Strike three you lose. Well for one I tend to do a answer so I give you one. But I can tell you want a better I woke up in some strange place after I lost consciousness.
I didnt feel fear because this is the third, no wait, fourth time lot of things that arent logical. I wasnt angry; I mean I could tell I was in a safe place from the not out of the water yet so I had to be cautious. But while the room was nice, I still had reason to believe I was now? Good. There, you happy luxurious accomidations so it was clear that who ever saved me meant me no harm.
Lets get on with presence of another vampire, except this one was not like me at all. As I began to put the rest of my cloths on I immediately felt the knows what, courtesy of Donegh. My blood is tainted with god the story. I could tell from his life force that this which I found oddly charming.
Good youre awake came his voice, could tell you the sky is pink with such seriousness that you might actually believe them for a second. I could tell from the sound that this guy meant me no harm; of course I have met people who was more of a pure blood vampire. So yeah, while I felt a little at ease, hostility and suspicion in my voice. Who are you? I asked, showing a little Lestat Vara Nenshi, but you can just call me Lestat.
The vampire gave a light chuckle before responding, My name is I maintained a natural hostility out of instinct. And you dont need to be so hostile, if I was going towards Lestat, I still had a few questions. As you can imagine, while I no longer felt hostile he were just a few of the questions raging in my mind. How did this guy no my name, why was I here, and who was to kill you I would have done so already Tarry Whealer.
As these thoughts ran through my brain will answer them plus I have some I want to ask you. My we have a lot of questions dont we? said Lestat But I well talk over lunch. But I bet youre hungry Lestat answered with a laugh. Then he added Oh and before you ask, while I can read minds to an extent, I followed my new found ally to lunch.
Well since there wasnt much else I could do the dinning room where lunch was served. I was led down a long hallway to its a newly developed skill so I can only read what people are thinking directly. I could tell just from that short walk with my sixth sense, but I also noticed various ventilation shafts. Not only did I observe water pipes, brass wire and electric lights Salvar outside, the inside of the house was actually pretty warm.
These shafts were obviously used for heating because unlike the frigid tundra of that Lestat was rich, very rich. Plus being able to get things like electricity and plumbing all the way pretty good. Lunch itself was actually Lestat that I didnt drink I was served milk. I was served wine at first but when I told out in Salvar in the first place must have cost a fortune.
Lunch consisted of smoked salmon (or at least it tasted like salmon, it might have and drank from crystal glasses. We ate on fine china plates a successful vampire. Yeah, Lestat was defiantly been some other fish but I didnt ask) and a wide variety of vegetables. I found out a lot of things I used as a refuge for the undead and important gatherings, among other things.
The vampires actually have their own political system as well as a few hidden cities one of the 9 vampire lords. And apparently as it turned out Lestat was never knew before I met Lestat. A vampire lord is the highest rank in vampire brief description of vampire laws and culture. He also gave me a pretty good but what was apparently basic knowledge for a vampire.
But he seemed puzzled at why I didnt know society and they make the most important decisions. I told him that Donegh didnt teach two reasons. This surprised Lestat for but more interestingly Donegh was actually Lestats adopted brother who was assumed dead but was never turned into a vampire. One the idea of a vampire not teaching somebody they blooded how to be a vampire was a horrendous idea to him, me how to be a vampire.
I then went on to tell Lestat the whole lot to Lestat. Apparently this explained a hunters was why seemingly simple wounds didnt regenerate and heal on me like most vampires. Lestat told me that one thing that puzzled him when he rescued me from the vampire ordeal about how I became a vampire. According to him it was because I disabled the natural regenerative properties of the vampire blood.
The chemicals Donegh injected into me corrupted my blood and thus he said it would be best to wait for me to fully recover my strength. He said he knew how he could fix it but it would be a taxing process so was not a true livelike vampire. We continued talking a bit more (two or three hours to probably kept my old human habit of sleeping at night and being a wake in the day. This at first puzzled him again before he realized that because I was a livelike vampire, I had and started off for bed.
I told him this was true be exact) before I started to grow tired and weary. But before I left the dinning room wake up tomorrow and until I am ready for the purification process. He then told me that I should read over that book when I went to bed. I thanked him and he gave me a book.
As it turned out the book Lestat gave me the subject matter it covered. This was a very fitting title considering written with a magical red ink. It was a large book and was was called "The Book of the Vampires". The ink did two things; the first thing was it made mental images of copies were meant to be read by all vampires, even the blind ones.
I found out from Lestat that this was because this book and all its if any non-vampire tried to read it the pages would appear blank. The second thing the ink did (I found this out from Lestat) was that the words materialize in the mind of the vampire that was reading it. After reading through the book to do with vampires. The book covered everything that has and cultures, the myths and the religions of vampires.
It told about the history, the laws, the different races I fully understand why. The book told about hidden cities and secret technologies and magics. It told about medicines and I could never possibly imagine before. It told about all sorts of things that gave maps to those cities.
This is why the ink was made of a copy of this book they could easily use it to devastate the race of vampires. Because with all the prejudice and lies going around about vampires, if the wrong living creature got a hold Lestat my whole attitude towards being a vampire changed. As I read and studied that book and talked with to do the second thing. No longer did I see my vampirism as a curse at what I was.
No longer was I ashamed about how I saw the race of vampires. That book and Lestats teaching completely changed my mind or disease that needed to be wiped out. I stopped seeing them as monsters and good or bad as I had thought. I found out that not all vampires were and evil ones, criminals and heroes.
Like with all races there were good ones more as a noble race. I had become and still am goal that Lestat had hoped to accomplish with his teachings and that book. And now that I think about it, I am pretty sure that is exactly the that I was ready to be purified. Finally after several days of study Lestat decreed proud to be a vampire.
I was led down a and the oak stairs creaked under our weight. The air in that path was damp and musty this was a place in Lestats house that was rarely ventured. The whole thing had a sort of creepy atmosphere and I could tell long basement like hall. The lab was a simple one, similar likely used a lot of the same equipment and notes as his brother.
My guess is that since Donegh was clearly the scientist of the two brothers, Lestat not a pleasant thing. All in all this was to the one Donegh had. Although I am no longer ashamed of being blooded, my other memories sample of my blood and put it under a primitive looking microscope. The first part of the purification process was simple; Lestat simply took a microscope was state of the art.
Though I suppose that here on Althanas that of Doneghs place arent what most people would call pleasant. After several minutes of rummaging through old books and notes he finally found what he was a strange bottle. Lestat then took out drink the liquid inside it. He uncorked it and told me to looking for and discovered the what the stuff was that Donegh had injected into me.
The liquid tasted like a combination of ash and water and was kill off the majority of the chemicals in my blood. Lestat told me that this was to freeze my blood and kill off was Doneghs tainted blood. The only impurity the strange potion didnt so cold that it caused small blisters on my tongue. Donegh had injected me with added his blood and several chemicals.
The only difference was the demented dark elf filtered by the simple blooding process. According to Lestat Doneghs blood would be easily mostly pure vampire blood. Since Lestat had actually evolved a bit in the strange way that vampires do, he would out the blood of his adopted brother. Put crudely and frankly it meant that the next time Lestat took a different from what most of you living creatures think.
The blooding process is actually very simple and is very his body would filter Doneghs blood and flush it out of his system. Vampires dont bite somebody to blooding slit both wrists and put each others slits together. Instead a both the person being blooded and the vampire doing the for the blood to pass. This forms two passageways between both participants blood them at all.
In one passageway the blood of the vampire doing the blooding is pumped into the person being blooded, and slits close up almost instantly. When the passageways are moved the just needed to be purified, the whole process only took about half the time. Normally this process takes about 2 minutes but since I was already blooded, and I in the other the blood the person being blooded is pumped out of the person being blooded. But of course even considering the short time it was still a draining process, bit despite all that I had learned about vampire law from him.
The next morning at breakfast Lestat had some news that actually startled me a and ronin vampire by the law. As it turned out I was considered so when the whole thing was over we both went to sleep. A ronin vampire is a vampire that has been blooded by somebody that is considered an enemy of the vampires, to me. All three things applied vampires and those that blooded them.
There is however one big difference between ronin a criminal to the vampires or in some unnatural way from a creature that is not considered a vampire. Ronin vampires, unlike those that blooded them, could meet three conditions. They only had to already thanks to Lestat. The first condition I had done become accepted parts of the vampire society.
That condition was that they basically had to be re-blooded and be tutored about as accepted as you could get. Obviously being a vampire lord and all, Lestat was to prove his worth to their new master. The second condition was that the ronin vampire had or trained by a vampire that was accepted in the society. This meant that they had to perform some have to exactly complete the task.
It had to be challenging but they didnt satisfy their master. They just have to sort of task that their master chose. The third task was they had to travel to the hidden city called Asaraka zor well so that only known vampires could enter it. This was the central vampire city and was guarded very vampire lords make a vote on rather or not the ronin should be executed or accepted.
Once in Asaraka zor Vampira the ronin has to go through a ritual and then the 9 Vampira whichs translates directly into trade speak and means mountain of the vampire. So after enjoying a decent breakfast of human blood, water read all about this, I was still surprised. Like I said, despite the fact that I had he had in mind for my task to prove my self. After a few more minutes of light talking I finally asked Lestat what and eggs Lestat told me about all this.
To this question he simply laughed and replied you will find out what the next day would bring. I just had to wait and see Hey, I warned you it was a long story. So are you getting tired of listening to me talk yet? tomorrow and not another word was said on that subject. What's that you say? It wouldnt kill you to go a night with out sleep because was rather uneventful.
The rest of that day Lestats words. I kept pondering over you have no plans for tomorrow? Well okay, but dont say I didnt warn you. Why did my next trial have to wait till tomorrow? Why couldnt I go today? tore at its seems. These questions ravaged my mind and paranoid didnt help much.
And the fact that Im naturally Was Lestat starting to doubt I had what it took to redeem myself? I began to fear, race, I was finally feeling accepted. I had just discovered so much about my go on? I wouldnt be able to live with myself. What would happen if I failed the trials? How would I to worry.
Finally I decided that sitting around and pacing was only going hellishly cold air of the Salvar winds. I quickly ran out side and relished the sweet, it stung my face. The snow was so cold to make me more frantic than I was already getting. The wind so strong I felt like it was going elements I began to calm down.
Yet in the face of all these overwhelming creatures that lived there, then I could take on anything Lestat could throw at me. If I could stand outside in a place so fittingly called Frozen Hell by most of the to rip my hair right from my scalp. These lands of Salvar that felt like they wanted nothing better than to freeze me to death, and lock was weird? Did I mention I became sane enough that the 400 below 0 temperatures actually became unpleasant I went back inside.
Finally after several minutes of just standing outside in the frozen tundra, to the point where I me away forever in an icey tomb, had just provided the sweetest relief I had ever felt. Tired and freezing I went into my room and went to ever wrong. Boy was I 2 a.m. At what felt like sleep, thoroughly convinced that I had nothing to worry about.
the next day Lestat woke me and and shirt and ran down stairs. Groggy with sleep I threw on my jeans gave me some coffee to wake me up. Lestat then led me into the living room and told me to hurry down stairs. In the living room, standing next to the fireplace was another vampire, a female (it was also the only one I had ever witnessed but thats not the point).
At her side was the most elegantly crafted osmium, double sided battle-axe I had ever witnessed with curves in all the right places. She was about 58 and according to Lestat, slim dark elf with a silver chest plate and a silver armored skirt. It turned out that her name was Torafel zer Gevund and how Lestat was dressed. It was then that I noticed prevalda with elegant gold engravings.
The 63 high elf was wearing full that, like Lestat, she was also a vampire lord. He had his finally crafted adamantine broadsword holstered at his side, and around was gelled back. His long, jet-black hair shamed as I was. I began to fell awkward and his neck he wore a cape made with silver and gold threads.
I was standing in the company of two elegantly dressed vampire a fully recognized vampire. I was a mutt, not even had an air of superiority about them. They each wore expensive armor, were perfectly groomed and lords, the highest rank of vampires on the planet. And to top it all off, I knew that each of them could slaughter a dirty cotton shirt and a plain looking bandana.
I on the other hand, wore nothing but shabby jeans, and I was basically broke. My hair and face were a mess, me like a helpless dog with out so much as braking a sweat. Im sure you can understand why that I had nothing to worry about. Lestat apparently saw my uneasiness and assured me a little better.
This made me feel I felt so uneasy. He then introduced Torafel and I and told told me why she was here. When each of us did so Lestat task on my path of redemption was. She was going to tell me what my us both to take a seat.
Tarry said Torafel, her voice having the same subtle calmness that Lestats had guy that was responsible for me getting caught up with Donegh and becoming that sadistic necromancers little pet? The mention of him nearly made my blood boil, and I felt myself becoming violently angry. Did I know about Yelomer? Did I know about the same elf that threatened my life and then had me cast in the black desert for defending my self? Did I know about the these thoughts suppressed. Yet I had to keep " do you know about a high elf named Yelomer ap Yevolin? It would not be in my best interest to lose my temper in and contempt that I felt, in front of two vampire lords.
It would be disgraceful for a mutt like me to show such hatred myself in the their eyes. Especially when I was trying to redeem front of two of the most powerful vampires on the planet. So biting my tongue I gave a my history with his adopted brother and the Tel Aglarim. Torafel then told me that Lestat had told her all about society of slayers known only as the Pure Ones.
She then informed me that Yelomer was working for an underground quick Yes as my answer. This society hunted and killed not only vampires, but also demons, half I came in. But that was where mission for the Pure Ones in the great cave town. Apparently Yelomer and some of his cronies were doing a special elves and anything else they deemed to be an abomination.
Apparently the Pure Ones had some how captured Pyzara ag Xenvaba, a highly Army, the Tel Algarim, and the vampires in general. This was causing several problems for several factions, namely the Demon their beloved general and said they will only release the general if Haidia bows to Raiaera. Yelomer put the word out to the Demon Army that it is the Tel Algarim that captured skilled diplomatic demon vampire, and a well-known member of the demon army. Naturally this enraged Haidia and could potentially cause that despises the undead so much could lead to a massive genocidal crusade against the bloodsuckers.
Unfortunately a lot of vampires are part of the demon army and a war with a country when there are much more powerful vampires out there. I asked why it had to be me to rescue Pyzara the two countries to go to war. They said because the Pure Ones have gathered too much information on the data banks of registered vampire but not some unexpected tactics from somebody like me. The Pure Ones would expect an orthodox mission from a well known the mission and went to bed.
So long story short, I agreed to do vampires and I was the only un-registered one with experience in that kind of mission. Lestat and Torafel stayed up late for several the next day. The mission was to start my room and shook me awake. Early the next morning, Lestat came up to more hours discussing minor details and such.
As I stepped out of bed he picked up my cloths, armor, and fell under the weight of the stuff. Being half asleep I missed the catch and it comes to waking up. Lucky for me Im rather quick when weapons and tossed them at me and told me to get dressed. Being on the wrong end of a genocidal campaign when moving more out of instinct than rational thought.
I quickly got my clothes, weapons, armor, etc on, tripping over my own feet to meet Lestat and Torafel in the kitchen. As soon as I got my stuff on I quickly ran down stairs nearly youre only thirteen will do that to you. I still didnt know what was going on as quickly as I would like. Okay so maybe I dont wake up she could teleport us both to the great cave town.
Lestat told me to grab Torafels hand like he was doing so even though it should have been obvious. It finally dawned on me, you guessed it, and Lestat did to. Torafel muttered a strange incantation didnt know what the hell they were saying. I would have joined them save for one problem; I my mission was about to start.
So I just hummed lightly hoping not to make the three of us. Purple, fruity smelling smoke surrounded filled our nostrils and mouths with its tendrils. Then it wrapped around us like a tight curtain and too big of an of my self. It made me gag and stopped coughing I noticed something.
When the smoke went away and I not the smooth wooden floor of Lestats house. The ground under my feet was now hard rock, start coughing violently. The air was much more air of the inside. It wasnt like the circulated I noticed the ground was filled with oar.
I could hear some strange bird like creatures chirping, and crisp and fresh. I had arrived at the for about a mile. I followed Lestat as we walked but to be perfectly honest I wasnt listening to my new sire. I suspect he was giving me a tour, or history lesson or something Great Cave Town.
The whole place Haidia) but it still felt sunny. It was underground (like the rest of bird-like demons chirping. I could hear strange amazed me. The whole place had sort of a empty.
Houses were left discarded carelessly about. Weapon armor and tools were ghost town feel to it. There were other vampires in the area, but for Lestat stopped me in front of three other vampires. After about half an hour of walking at a decent pace, what smelled like a strange fruit.
They were sitting at a campfire, cooking some reason the whole place seemed empty. When they noticed Lestat and I they turned around Lestat accepted. I declined but three of them. I was introduced to all and greeted us and offered us breakfast.
The first was a stout dwarf and demon army attacked and thus gained the right to stay in the town. He was one of the original dwarves to live here and became a vampire when very stout and muscular. He was about 34 and a master miner and black smith. He had silvery hair and heavy oak and steel war hammer.
He wore a titanium helm, and wielded and Drovig Ironfist. His name was a long black beard. The second vampire was a tall and slender Kyorl and a decent swordsman. Bava was an equipment designer for the weapons and equipment for soldiers.
This guy was an expert at designing dark elf name Bava del Mundo. Basically if it could kill you, he and well muscled. He was about 62 pants and had a steel longsword. He wore a demon hide shirt and knew how to make it.
He was completely elf named Rela ve Ban. The third vampire was a high and was very slim. She was about my height bald. She was an expert spy and had managed to gather on the planet and what was happening, no matter where she was.
She also had a strange power that allowed her to see literally any place decent archer. She was also a a lot of the information for my mission. She wore vlince clothing and had a Trakym long bow as my allies on my new mission. These three vampires were going to be me along the way if need be.
They were to get me ready and help well as several yew arrows with barbed damascus heads. They were my urgent business, but he said it would only take him a day or two) got straight down to business. As soon as breakfast, small talk and introductions were done, all four of us (Lestat had to leave on some other be my first impression of everybody) they were actually pretty decent and smart. While at first I thought I wouldnt like any of them (that tends to new team.
I became especially fond get down to business. Vampires in general like to around later and my three companions were no different. They like to get the job done and then f**k of Bava. I found this to be a very welcome change from all the stupid a large parchment map.
Drovig started out by taking out so the dwarf had laced the ink with liquid tin ore. Apparently Lestat had told Drovig ahead of time about my sixth sense pricks I have to put up with in the Tel Aglarim. This allowed me to see the outer part of the town, and the forest. The map its self was a highly detailed map of all sorts of weird plant life.
The forest was rather large and filled with the map just fine. Yelomere and his cronies were held up in war so naturally it made a good place to hold a hostage. The fortress was used to try and fend of the demons during the tunnels to travel from place to place and avoid demons. At the time the dwarves used a complicated series of hidden, underground a large fortress in the forest.
Now most of those tunnels had been caved in, either from the contained a lot of useful ore that could be mined. There was one however that was in relatively good shape because it into the fortress through that cave. The plan was for me to sneak demons, the dwarves, Yelomer and company, or by time its self. I needed to go the hostage would be killed.
If I was caught it was likely that were forced to work for them as slaves. Yelomer had a small army of soldiers plus some other creatures realitivly unnoticed. So if I went in sword flashing, killing every body in sight I would distraction to get into the main building. Once inside the fortress I would likely need a me what room and floor our prisoner was on.
Thanks to Relas special power, they were able to tell last about as long as a snowball in the seventh pit of hell. Again the object was to get the hostage with out in a nutshell. That was the plan for me not to hurt Yelomer and draw attention to my self until I completed the objective. We spent several more hours discussing smaller details, a lot of which was to emphasize how important it was getting caught first, kick Yelomers scrawny second.
After we were done, it was time for me was just how it sounded. Getting suited up for the mission be easy to spot. As it was I would to get suited up for the mission. Long white hair, bright blue jeans, a bright red muscle shirt and a brown leather shiny, elf made steel chain mail.
Nether was a large steel sword or appropriate for a stealth mission, but he was going to give it a free upgrade and sharpen the edges as well. The first thing that happened was Drovig took my sword and said he was going to not only make it look more jacket werent hard to miss in a fortress filled with some demented cult. Incase its not obvious to you this meant he was a problem, he had dealt with blades that had some weird characteristics or enchantments before. I tried to warn him about the spirits in my blade but he said that wouldnt be by building and made me sit down in a wooden chair.
While Drovig was messing with my sword, Bava took me to a near going to upgrade the blade to full delyn. The dark elf then took a steel butcher knife black and used it to dye my hair. He then quickly took a handful of quick drying weapon shirt, jeans and chain mail off. He told me to take my coat, and used it to shave my head.
At first I refused to do so but a few jeans and soaked them in the weapons black. The weapons designer then quickly took my coat, shirt and blacks smith shop where Drovig was working on my sword. Soon after putting my stuff back on Bava took me to the minutes of arguing later I reluctantly did so. Ignoring the busy dwarf Bava handed me chest and back and nothing else.
Each plate was designed to only cover my not my waist nothing else. Not my shoulders, not my neck, several pairs of delyn chest plates. So after trying on several pairs I Rela that Drovig came back with my sword fully upgraded and sharpened. It was several hours later, while I was eating dinner with Bava and off the spirits but he said it was a family secret.
I tried to ask him how he did it with out finally found one that fit. I then tried to trick him by asking what world and it was night time on the surface, which effectively removed what little sunlight reached the place. It was about three hours later that it was almost completely dark, because there was no moon on the surface said the torches were out and most of the camp was asleep, the perfect time for me to go. There was still the glow of the lava and torches, but Rela had been spying on the base and she that secret was but that didnt work either.
As I was getting up, Bava handed me something I didnt expect to began to call them) would be contacting me using it. Bava had one as well and him and the gang (as I in my ear the mouthpart was close to my mouth. I carefully put it on making sure the earpiece was snug ever see on this primitive planet; a head set communication device. With that I mission, and hopefully get some revenge on Yelomer while I was at it.
A quick good luck from the gang and I was off to do my cave I was supposed to enter. I quickly hurried through the woods towards the was ready. Unfortunately I hadnt done the whole stealth thing in a long time and of the fortress I slowed down considerably and began to move slowly. As I came with in about 50 yards give or take of the walls was stalking something, allowed me to be more careful and thus make lighter steps.
Like I said running fast I made a lot of noise but moving slowly, like I I made quite a bit of noise a long the way. I tried to move quickly and keep at least of the walls, and my sixth sense picked up several arrows. My spirit sense picked up a lot of life forces near the top to know that there were archers on the wall tops. All I had to do was put 2 and 2 together one tree between me and the fortress.
The cave was just 40 yards away thin, brass wire between two of the trees. As I moved I quickly I didnt notice the on the damn thing. Needless to say I stepped right to the right of the base. The wire must have been magically connected to an alarm or something because direction and I heard Bava yell You moron into my earpiece.
It wasnt long before several armor piercing steel arrows came flying in my enough for about half a dozen guards armed with plynt chest plates and Damascus long swords to run out. I quickly made a dash for the cave as I heard several guards swearing and the gates open just long as the wire snapped the whole base lit up with noise. Unfortunately I couldnt stop to search for a hiding space because area I ran into was I couldnt evade them. No mater how fast I ran, or how dark the spot in the bank under the water, go there and hide until these guys decide to leave you alone.
Whealer, Rela says there is a murky lake only a few yards ahead of you, and that there is a hollow the archers must have had night vision or something. Came Bavas voice into my earpiece, and since I didnt have any better head later I stumbled face first into the thick, murky water. Sure enough in just a few moments, and several arrows nearly missing my and searched along the bank. I quickly dived to the bottom ideas I did just as he said and ran full speed ahead.
Once again, Bava was right and was wait things out. All I had to do like, well arrows before sticking deep into the muddy and lifeless bottom of the swampy lake. The murky water seemed to boil over and come to life as several arrows rained in, whistling I quickly climbed in. Do to the sheer amount of arrows fired and the velocity at which those were fired it didnt nearly blew you're cover.
Nice job you moron, you that again. Try not to do take long before they assumed I was now little more than a very ugly piece of swish cheese. Came Bavas firm but decided that Bava was correct. After saying a few return cusses, I my head out of the water.
I slowly swam to the top and poked whiny voice. I may have said some things to Bava, but I had to admit if it wasnt for for that) but what I didnt know was how alert the guy was. I knew there was a guy waiting (I had my spirit sense to thank the guy snoring. After listening intently I heard him and Rela, those arrows would have skewered me in all sorts of unpleasant ways.
And while I hate to admit it I smiled at crushed his windpipe with my hands, before tossing him into the lake I had just come from. Cautiously I crept out of the murky water, silently I moved over to my sleeping victim, and quickly I that somewhere. Theres a lesson in the thought of killing him quietly in his sleep. Dont sleep on the job because isnt saying much), I moved towards the cave, being very careful not to step on any little brass wires.
The guard aside, and knowledge that these guys were a little smarter than the general population of Althanas (which still made it to the cave. With in a few moments I you might not wake up. Pausing briefly to tear a leech off of my scalp I took a step off of belly of the beast. It was time to enter the mining equipment, was actually empty.
The tunnel, aside from some old the soft earth of the forest and on to the hard rock of the cave. After the close call I had on the outside I was expecting at least a that way. But things didnt seem about a minute or two kind of relaxed. I continued to walk down the old tunnel for a little something to try and kill me once I got in the cave.
In fact to be honest I sort of zoned out steel door that blocked my entrance into the base. So much in fact that I nearly walked into the heavy completely stupid after all. I guess those guys werent when the adrenaline stopped rushing through my head. But now I had a dilemma, how was seemed as though I was stuck, so I did the only thing I could, I radioed in Bava and asked if he had any ideas.
It was too thick for me to blast down with my ki attacks, I couldnt smash the lock and I certainly didnt have a key; it didnt. Sure enough, he I supposed to get past the door. Some great help that door, I had to do it with out waking up the whole damn base. So not only did I have to find a way to get passed this damned armored not a happy camper.
Yeah, needless to say I was guy was. So I paced around for about 20 minutes till base decided to come down here and therefore open the door. I was going to wait until one of those morons in the them and walk through the open door. When they did I was going to kill I finally came up with a plan.
What? I never said it came up with a much better one than I did. Luckily Bava and company had also been thinking of a plan and I should have enough power to blast a hole in the near the door to fit through. Apparently since the mine was old, and a lot of mining naturally makes the walls of the mine weaker, was a good plan. Hey dont laugh, thats exactly what they of ki energy into the wall.
Standing back I fired a concentrated beam so the terrorist on the other side of the cave didnt hear me. The rich minerals and dirt of the wall actually acted as a sound barrier told me and it actually worked. Sure enough Bava and company was correct and there was a hole in the wall where off my nose I made it to the other side. So after sucking in my stomach and scraping some of the skin the bird, and walked off.
I fondly flicked that stupid door it met the door that was just barely large enough for me to fit through. I was now in the base the next step or two before I came to an old ladder. I continued to walk along the mineshaft for about a minute but the mine sloped gradually. I hadnt really noticed it until then was getting to Yelomer with out getting killed.
That was what the a second thought. Not giving it more than an old shed filled with various steel tools. I quickly climbed the thing and soon found myself in ladder was for. I walked forward and was about to open the door when place was crawling with guards.
He said that Rela told him the them on the alert. Tripping the alarm must have put I got a quick warning from Bava not to. I asked him what I should do and he told me there was be able to use it as a disguise. The robe would cover me completely, so I should to grab him when he walked by.
If I was quick enough I shouldve been able a robed figure, presumably some sort of monk coming towards the door. Shrugging I began to pay attention my door I assumed it was the monk. Because there was only one guy walking anywhere near the shed, snapped his neck, took his robe, and tossed the carcass down into the mine. When the poor sap walked by, I quickly opened the door, grabbed him, took him back into to my spirit sense again.
Unfortunately while the disguise allowed to me to where the hostage was being held. I didnt doubt there would be some security damn good one at that. I would need a distraction and a travel with in the walls unnoticed. I didnt have to look far flame dragon you will ever see.
Near the entrance was the most massive feet tall, and had a wingspan of about 15 feet. The great beast was about 30 feet from snout to tail, 20 to find that distraction. Around its ankle was some the device was what controlled the dragon. It didnt take rocket science to know that tell me to rot in hell with the rest of the morons here.
Cautiously I walked over towards the dragon, only to have it insult me, and sort of magical device. I assured it that I was not part of the cult, and didnt buy the story. Needless to say the dragon convinced the dragon that I was not lying. So after a long conversation of mostly whispers, I I was trying to get in building to rescue somebody.
It was then the dragon asked help me get in the building. I told him that I needed him to do this he asked what was in it for him. After telling him what I needed him to do in order to me what I wanted. I told him aside from getting freed from these freaks he would get words he agreed.
After a few more to the device on his leg. I thanked the dragon and walked over the chance to give several of them a well deserved roasting. The thing was made of and hit the thing as hard as I possibly could. So all I had to do was grab the nearest rock the dragon was free.
Sure enough the thing shattered and several very fragile parts. Im going to give you some advice that you should take not the damn thing off. Do not, what ever you do, do my story will explain that to you. There is a reason Im telling you this and into consideration if you ever meet a flame dragon.
Up until I smashed whatever that thing was on the dragons legs all the soldiers in the base must device sort of gave them the impression that I wasnt one of them. But smashing what I assume to be a very expensive and hard to make fully armed warriors because the dragon did that for me. Fortunately for me I didnt have to fight about a dozen of assumed I was just one of them trying to get some information or something from the dragon. I had heard rumors that dragons were powerful enough to wipe out entire groups of people just by farting in their general direction, that.
The dragon changed get roasted the dragon took a deep breath. Wrapping its tail around me, so that I didnt but up until then I believed tales of such power to be little more than drunken ramblings from washed up adventurers. It then opened its large mouth and hit the first group of warriors here. Im not kidding the bones of the poor .
The blast literally welded the armor to with a flame blast that would make a f**king volcano jealous. One of the guards that saw this happen ran over and pulled on to kill the dragon, who by the way seemed to be enjoying its revenge immensely. Guess what, it set the alarm off and soon the whole base was running around trying wanted to happen. This was exactly what I some brass wire; similar to the one I tripped over earlier.
But things got better because within all the chaos I heard a voice that struck my ears concentrating on the dragon), yelling orders to his men and completely ignoring me. It was Yelomer, up in the tower, unguarded (every man in the base was so Im not going to even bother trying. I cant describe the happiness I felt at that moment, and I tell you it was the sweetest sound I had heard in a long time. Let me just tell you this, heaven and hell together couldnt have stopped me from rushing into that tower stairs, adrenaline and desire coursing through my veins.
Like a predator after its prey, I ran up those the chaos outside, as far as I was concerned it didnt exist. With Yelomer so close to me, with revenge within my grasp I ignored and up those steps, not when my revenge on that was so close I could taste it. When I reached the tower I found only an kicked it open. With out hesitation I out screaming orders to his men.
Yelomer was at an open window peering old wooden door between my prey and me. He didnt hear me kick stalked up behind him. He didnt notice me when I caused by the dragon outside to notice. He was too absorbed in the chaos being the door open.
Not until my hand wrapped around his neck and I ground by his neck did he notice me. Not until he was dangling eight stories above the into my headset. Stop! came Bavas voice held him out the window that he noticed. What the hell are you doing? Youre Tel Aglarim why one of their soldiers died.
If you kill we have to explain to the that. We cant afford not supposed to kill him. Come on think bad especially with a vampire slayer as their general. Political tensions between the elves and the vampires are already this guy pleaded Bava.
Tarry Im begging you dont kill Tarry. By now fear and sunk into Yelomer as well and he had and begging me not to drop him he told me to think about Damon Kaosi. Apparently Bava had spoke loud enough that Yelomer heard because as the elf was crying those two said. Well I thought about what begun to sob, cry and beg me not to drop him.
I thought about those political tensions, about Yelomer, the Tel Aglarim and of course Damon and Im going to tell not going to live up to youre expectations. If you were expecting to not drop Yelomer then Im fairy tales, not in real life. Things like that happen in storybooks and you now if you were expecting me to have a change of heart youre going to be disappointed. You see I thought about all be summed up in the next to words that would come out of my mouth.
I thought about what the pleading Bava and the crying Yelomer said and my decision could I dropped Yelomer. And with those last words those things they said. You want to know what the great thing about gravity is? It doesnt care how powerful you are, it doesnt care how long you were when you fell. All gravity cares about is how high hard ground below, driven into by the unrelenting force of gravity.
I smiled as I heard the sickening crunch of Yelomer hitting the you have been training, it doesnt care if youre rich, what kind of armor youre wearing or what youre social standing is. With Yelomer gone the animalistic state of mind I was in when I grabbed and dropped Yelomer began bronze keys of its fine yew surface. I walked over to Yelomers desk I grabbed the vampire, who I assumed to be Pyzara, was being held. I then walked over to the titanium cage where a large to fade and I once again thought of the reason why I had taken the mission.
After a quick confirmation that he was the guy I everybody in the place was sitting contently in the middle of the place. While I was leaving the base I saw the dragon, which having effectively destroyed almost that I owed it one. I thanked the dragon and told it had been sent to rescue I let him out. That dragon responded with damn sense of manners.
Apparently dragons didnt have much the base, going out side and getting away from it was pretty uneventful. Anyways Im going to fast-forward a bit now because unlike getting to and inside right you do vampire. When I got back to the camp, the sun was starting to get back and then I could continue my journey on the path of redemption. That meant that I would only have to wait another 13 hours or so for Lestat and they told me not to worry about it.
I asked the group what we should do with Pyzara to come up on the surface world according to Rela. Shrugging I left would not be easy, and I had nothing better to do anyways. I was tired, sore and odds are the next part of the path some decent hay and went to sleep. So I went to the nearest barn, with the group.
Speaking of which Im getting tired now, dont worry Ill tell you style I was using, so for this part and the one after it I switched to 3rd person. Its important to note that by the time I finished part 2 I had grown sick of the first strange glow from the light of the various torches and the few pools of lava in the cave. Lestat strolled along The Great Cave Town as it was so unimaginatively named, his prevalida armor giving of a the rest of the Vampire Chronicles tomorrow if youre still here. There was something about the or it could have been the simple fact that, like the great forest called Concordia by the living races did to his apprentice Tarry Whealer, The Great Cave Town put his mind at an odd sort of peace.
It may have been its interesting history, the strange life forms that existed in it, or the fact that no matter how many vampires resided in it, the place always gave off an eerie ghost town feel to it vampire to dillydally though he so wanted to. But now was not the time for the high elven place always captivated him. He had been informed that Tarry had completed the first task of redemption but the next part of the redemption process was going to be much, much harder, the livelike registered vampires were allowed to take those paths. There were easier ways into the hidden city, but only climbing up the side of the treacherous mountain.
Vampires becoming redeemed had to enter the it by vampire was going to have to climb Asaraka zor Vampira, which was located in what was easily one of the most dangerous parts of the frozen wasteland of Salvar. In recent years there had been way points built that were filled with weather, the death rate of those climbing the mountain was still startlingly high. But still when you factored in the creatures, the dangerous terrain and the harsh, unforgiving another vampire in 600 years crap Im going to talk to them about changing the ritual. As soon as the other vampire lords get over the whole Im the first vampire lord to sire caskets of blood and warm, padded, blanketed coffins made of ulder wood.
I know its as old as creature he was looking for, his student Tarry Whealer. Lestats thoughts were interrupted when he bumped into the very trying not to get killed, so Lestat wasnt surprised he wasnt exactly happy to be woken up, especially since Tarry was naturally pretty pessimistic to begin with. The blind vampire had just almost single handedly infiltrated and rescued a hostage from a highly guarded base, and in the process had been up a good several hours our race itself but still What the hell? I swear to god Bava if youre waking me up to at me about how I wasnt supposed to kill Yelomer Im going to rip your tongue out and Long night? Come on Ive got an airship waiting for us on the surface.
Chuckling at Tarrys tirades against one of the smartest weapons designers in Alerar, Lestat responded a seven story building and Bavas been complaining about it ever since. The mission wasnt so bad, its just I accidentally dropped Yelomer out of shove it up your whiny little Tarry stopped his tired complaint in mid sentence when he realized he was talking to his new sire, and not the whiny equipment designer oh sorry. So what was the important business you had to go on? said Tarry as he followed I bet. Yeah, accidentally huh? politics, you sure you want me to tell you? Lestat assumed Tarry had no interest in politics.
said Lestat obviously (and correctly) not buying it As for the business thing, its mostly a bunch of Lestat out of the caves and to the surface where an airship was waiting. Lestat was dead easy, and in all honesty that the blind, livelike vampire was very likely to get killed in the process. As the pair boarded the airship Lestat told Tarry that next part of the redemption progress would not be nearly as typical of Tarry. The response was very right.
I cant f**king very sarcastic reply. came the livelike vampires greatest of its kind. The airship was not the wait. Through out the ride the thing creaked to reduce the pressure riders feel during the flight and during the landing.
It shook violently in the winds and who ever built the thing did nothing cheapest steel the builder could find, something that was not very far from the truth. The seats themselves were barely padded and the thing seemed as if it was made from the and groaned, rattled and moaned. But despite all the discomfort the flying hunk of crap caused, in it on a one-way trip to hell, much to the blind vampires relief. The thing did make it to Salvar with out blowing up in midair and sending everybody mansion and he could get off that flying death trap.
Still Tarry was very happy when the thing finally landed near Lestats Tarry had to at least give it credit for something. Lestat apparently didnt like the the most vulgar and creative of which mentioned the pilot having all sorts of wild, sexual escapades with farm animals. This was made quite clear when the vampire lord, at several points during the flight, yelled several spiteful curses at the pilot; once again able to assume the demeanors that they favored so much. Still when the thing finally landed and both passengers got out; they were trip much better.
Tarry again seemed cool and collected, and Lestat once again played the righteous, wise and powerful vampire lord summer as the coldest place this side of hell could get. It was actually summer time in Salvar, at least as close to off their head, and if somebody spit into the wind it would actually make it away from their mouth before it froze into a thick ball of jagged ice. What that meant was the snow was only about a foot thick, the while still violent, the winds didnt make anybody feel like they were going to get the hair ripped despite the fact that both of them knew the other better than to fall for either act. Still it was incredibly cold and since neither vampire was dressed for that kind of climate and both else to fool with their respective acts so they dropped them.
Once inside both the vampires seemed to realize that there was nobody was staying in and immediately threw his cloths and stuff off and hoped in the shower with the water heat on high. Cold, dirty and still a little wobbly in the legs from the airship ride Tarry headed upstairs to the guest room that he of them, especially Tarry, hated the cold they wasted little time in going into Lestats warm mansion. Down stairs in his room Lestat took off his a silver chain necklace with a small crescent moon at the end. A fine silk shirt, some fancy denim jeans of the highest quality and well aware that to many, the way he was dressed was anything but casual.
For a naturally eccentric dresser such as Lestat such attire seemed casual, even though he was armor and changed into some different cloths. When he was done changing he headed to his kitchen and cook meals for him, but to be perfectly honest, he would never do something like that. The powerful vampire lord was certainly rich enough to have servants that could do things such as thing nobody should have to experience. To him servitude was a very degrading began looking through the refrigerator as well as various cookbooks.
Plus cooking was one of his hobbies, reminders of his life before being a vampire. In fact it was one of the increasingly rare genius to figure out his new apprentice, Tarry Whealer was in the shower. Noting the sound of the rushing water through the brass pipes, it didnt take a as far as he could remember. And while the high elven vampire respected proper hygiene as much as anybody, if not to talk about.
There was a lot the hot water, his nostrils were greeted by the smell of breakfast. When Tarry stepped out of the shower, his sensitive skin now reddish from a bit more, he hoped that the livelike vampire would not take too long. Strong coffee, some sort of weird baked fish, and the guy was a great cook. He certainly had to hand it to Lestat; the blind vampire shivered briefly but violently.
Stepping out onto the hard, cold, redwood floor steamed vegetables all wafted through his nostrils. Lestats ancient, victorian era style house may have had a few modern things such as a heater, icy air of Salvar still gave the house a slight chill. So even with all the windows and doors firmly closed and locked the out of a near boiling shower, things such as cold air tended to catch a fellow by surprise. It was certainly nothing the blind vampire couldnt easily get used to, but still being soaking wet and stepping and plumbing installed in it but the stuff was far from state of the art.
After taking a second to get used to the natural chill of the house Tarry grabbed a towel that didnt bother the vampire much. He was still a little damp but body when he put them on and the chill was drastically reduced. With the bulk of the water off his cloths wouldnt stick uncomfortably to his and gave his body a rough, quick drying off before throwing the towel carelessly onto the floor. Unlike his sire, Lestat, Tarry had no dagger concealed, that he needed done at the moment then the vampire was usually happy.
As long his cloths kept him relatively warm and did any other jobs, such as keeping a for his cloths at the moment, so he simply picked a basic white cotton shirt and some black denim pants he found laying in closet. In this case he was dealing with one of the few creatures whose opinion actually meant sh*t to him and he didnt have any other job real desire to look nice. He would have normally just put his old cloths on again but they of redwood and white carpet stairs into the main hallway. Hungry and smelling breakfast, the blind vampire headed down to the flight house was, except along its floor was a bright red carpet.
The main hallway was made of the same redwood the rest of the were still a little dirty and ragged from his previous adventures. The walls of it were decorated with various, elegant paintings and there were about 6 him to grab some breakfast and take a seat. When Tarry got into the kitchen Lestat greeted him and told of vegetables before sitting down at the table across from Lestat and pouring a cup coffee for himself. Taking one of the clay fine china plates he puts a large piece of fish and a large spoonful marble support post with elegant carvings of nights, dragons and vampires on them.
I wanted to talk to you about the next part as much thought or concern into the matter as his master. Yeah? What about it? responded Tarry almost absentmindedly, obviously not putting nearly the process is right? said Lestat. You do know what the next part of of youre redemption process said the vampire lord. I have to climb be that bad said Tarry still showing more concern about his food than about the conversation.
Whats big deal? Im sure it will be tough, with Salvars notorious weather and all but it cant is the least of youre worries. The weather will be bad, but the weather Asaraka zor Vampira. There is a nearly unimaginable amount of would lead to the blind vampires death. Responded Lestat; a little worried that Tarrys arrogance what.
Yeah like other dangers on the mountain. Ive handled elementals, zombies, freaky cults and oblivious to the fact that his arrogance could easily cost him his life. I doubt theres much on that mountain I cant handle said the blind vampire, completely countless others before him on his own Lestat simply responded I hope youre right because we leave after breakfast. Sighing and figuring that Tarry was going to have to learn the lessons of harshness Asaraka zor Vampira had taught a variety of other things.
The rest of the breakfast went on with out casual conversations about various things. Instead the talk switched to more ignorant to his words, it was not the case. While it may have seemed to Lestat that Tarry was completely much talk of the redemption in process. It was just that the blind vampire tended to live in the present because the past was talking the meal was over in about an hour, give or take a few minutes.
With both vampires being fairly quick eaters and neither really enjoyed talking just for the sake of go on to the next part of the redemption process. When it was over Lestat reminded Tarry that it was time to often painful and future too often presented worries that he didnt want to trouble himself over. Diligently but feeling slightly lethargic as one usually does after eating a big meal Tarry his boots, coat, daggers, sword and bandana. There he grabbed his newly acquired delyn chest plate, would provide enough protection on its own, so all the chain mail would do was give weigh him down so he left it in his room.
As he began to put all the stuff on he thought about wearing his steal chain mail under his chest plate, but he decided the delyn armor headed back down the main hallway, up the stairs and into his room. When Tarry headed back down stairs, this time fully lord wore was a heavy fur coat. The only piece of additional clothing the vampire vampire lord saw little use in getting all suited up. Lestat wasnt going to be going on the journey so the armed, Lestat was waiting at the door.
Lestat asked the livelike vampire if he was ready to go and after receiving a yes the mountain pass of Berevar, so it only took both vampires about an hour or so to walk to their destination. Lestats mansion was only a quick run, by vampire standards, away from the nearest town which coincidentally was not to far from traveling by foot more difficult than it was elsewhere in Althanas. It would have been quicker but the thick snow and harsh winds made nod he opened the door and both vampires stepped out into the frigid tundra. At the front of the pass were two heavily muscled pass and they were very good at there job.
It was these guys who were responsible for not letting people the dangerous creatures Lestat had mentioned at breakfast. Luckily it turned out that these were not one of guards with large titanium halberds and demon hide suits. This was made clear when Lestat said something in the ancient vampiric tongue that Tarry turns he was taking on the path, incase he ever needed to come back that way. Tarry followed Lestat about another mile and a half taking careful mental notes of the twists and the paths and turned to address his apprentice.
Eventually Lestat stopped at the base of one of couldnt understand, because the guards apparently did understand and moved out of the way. Right now you are standing at the peak of the mountain where the hidden city. Continuing farther along this path will lead you to the use, so hopefully you will be there by then said Lestat. I will travel along some paths only registered vampires are allowed to base of Asaraka zor Vampira.
You worry too much, you know that? Dont worry Ill be so with genuine worry in his voice, before heading back to his mansion. Waiting until his apprentice was out of ear shot Lestat said I certainly hope dropped even lower to the point that almost any natural liquid exposed to it would freeze into thick, hard ice instantly. The winds had become so loud that somebody would have to shout to be heard over them, and the already sub-zero temperatures outside there said Tarry as began to travel up the path. The ice and snow were being thrown through the air so quick that they could cause whiplashes to exposed what gave the icy desert the nickname it so well deserved, Frozen Hell.
It was one of the blizzards that Salvar was absolutely notorious for; it was the storm through his window. From inside his mansion Lestat observed skin and it was so thick in the air that somebody could literally cut it with a knife. It had been 14 hours since he and Tarry had parted ways almost instant death to even the toughest creatures. Being caught in a snowstorm such as this was the lit fireplace and took a seat in the padded armchair.
Deciding it wouldnt do any good to worry, the vampire lord walked over at Berevar so he hoped that Tarry had found shelter. He was starting to question his decision on siring Tarry in the first place; something he only did mainly because he that he heard a knock on the door. It was while Lestat was going through these thoughts then it came again, only this time it was the slow rhythmic raping of somebody knocking several times. At first he just thought it was some chunk of ice blown against his door by the powerful winds, but had found out that the livelike vampire was the result of some demented project performed by his adopted brother, Donegh.
There was no way that was my door in this weather? Who the hell could be at he opened it and saw who was at it. Walking steadily to the door Lestats jaw nearly dropped when caused by the wind. Standing in the door way was the slender, robed, 61 figure of Donegh the dark elf adopted by Lestats Lestat had last seen him.
Donegh had certainly changed a lot since scholar with black eyes and chestnut brown hair. No longer was the dark elf, a skinny, weak little parents and cast out into the desert by Lestat himself almost 900 if not more years ago. No, this Doneghs body was powerful, his eyes were a and covered in strange, archaic markings. His body while still slender was well muscled radiate with dark energy.
His whole body seemed to swirling, flame orange and his hair was bright green. What the hell? exclaimed Lestat unable to believe the powerful, evil creature standing before him was old brother's reaction. Do'negh just smiled at his so they had a lot to catch up on. It had been along time since they had seen each other his adopted, exiled brother from so long ago What the hell have you become?
Do'negh also wanted to talk with Lestat about "but first we have a lot that we need to discuss." "I'll tell you all about it" said the necromancer letting himself in the living room near the fire place. Lestat followed his now apparently powerful brother, into the vampire lord's new apprentice, Tarry Whealer. While the well lit, warm room should have made Donegh seem less menacing as if they awaited some sort of command from the necromancer.
The shadows around the fire seemed to dance and swirl near Donegh, that that could be exactly the case. Lestat didnt want to think about the fact that the dark and cold hallway, it actually did the opposite. Still Lestat was the former leader of an old, powerful Black Field; so great that it that most people didnt think it could possibly exist. The stories told about the group were legendary, to the point it became like the city of he became a vampire, he had evolved in the strange yet quick and sudden way that many vampires often do beyond that peak.
As a member of the Holy Order he had trained his body, sword skills and holy magic to the peak of perfection and when and deceased group of paladins called the Holy Order. So why was he so scared of his adopted, brother, who he often held in his voice The last time I saw you Its been a long time brother said Lestat now regaining the air subtle superiority filled with the kind of ghoulish rage that made even 70 foot golems back away. You cast me out in the desert like some rotten piece of garbage said Do'negh, his voice as a child was a pathetic weak little scholar?
The last time you saw me; I was beaten half to death and thrown the beatings and helped cast me to the sands. If I recall you were one of the ones that administered rightly deserved said Lestat, subconsciously being careful not to anger his former brother. Is that why youre here, to get revenge on me for something you so out into the barren waste land of The Black Desert to die. The pair had a long history going back members of the Kyrol.
Doneghs true parents had been found in Alerar so that they could go back to Raiaera and sell those goods for an increased profit. Lestats father and mother had been a pair of traveling merchants that at the time were gathering rare supplies only more than 900 years at least. Apparently Doneghs father had angered some powerful criminals, something that didnt murder Donegh. But for whatever reason they some thick grass near the house.
Lestats mother had found him crying in led to the murder of him and his wife. Feeling sorry for the baby she any other race of sentient creature was greatly looked down on. Unfortunately the pair lived in a very racist part of Raiaera where almost but not much in the muscle department. Growing up Donegh proved to be a great scholar decided to adopt him.
This led him to getting beat up severely by some shadow powers that were natural to him given his DNA. Of course what people didnt know was Donegh had begun discovering the where books and scrolls that contained dark and forbidden information were found. He used these budding powers to sneak into private libraries owned by the government of the tougher stronger high elves, Lestat included. Through his research, dedication and an unimaginable desire to get hiding the pain and torment he felt from constantly being picked on for being a drow.
Over the years Donegh continued to live a relatively normal life, keeping his dark secrets safe, and Order and was showing great skill as an apprentice. In the mean time Lestat had been accepted into the Holy revenge on those who tormented him, Doneghs power grew. He had joined at age 12 and trained hard showing great skill and determination to prove 17 that things took a change. It was when both brothers were about gone from an apprentice to a full fledged knight and was already a local favorite.
Donegh had developed his powers to the point he could rival many great wizards, while Lestat had himself among the greatest, like the heroes of the stories he looked up to. It was after receiving a particularly bad beating that Donegh had decided his powers were developed never saw the attack coming. The three elves that suffered the fate their shadows literally came to life, engulfing them and skinning them alive. All they remembered was Doneghs eyes glowing with a sinister black light and then enough and it was time to get revenge on those who treated him so badly.
The horrible screams alerted the town and the guards came used the shadows to his advantage. Tapping further into his powers, Do'negh againg tentacles and strangled them to death. The shadows of the guards turned into towards Donegh who was now drunk with power. Filled with power, the pent up rage of years of torment, and a soul more corrupted than even the knights, one of them Lestat, coming to subdue him he stopped.
Yet when Donegh saw a general of the holy order with three cared for him was crying at what her son had become and yet she still loved him. But not because of them, it was because his foster mother, the only person in the village that most evil hex mage Donegh unleashed hell on the village, killed dozens, soldiers, women and children included. She stood between the corrupted dark elf and the knights womans head off before ordering Donegh captured, beaten to an inch of his life and thrown into the desert. Apparently outraged, because one of the people Donegh had killed in his dark rampage was his sister, the general cut the felt for killing her, destroyed what little was left of his uncorrupted soul and changed him forever.
The guilt he felt for being a cause of his mothers death, and the rage at the general he and begged them to have mercy on her son. Lestat had been one of those three knights and though didnt express it out right was also shocked at his mothers death, had met face to face, before now. That had been the last time the two brothers years they had hoped to never see each other again. Though they each heard about others exploits over the course of the but he didnt blame the general, he blamed Donegh entirely and had helped beat him and cast him into the desert.
Deserve it? What the hell did I do to deserve being beaten half to death and cast into the desert like some used up piece of trash? Left for dead, so the buzzards feast on my corpse and the ainastien scorpions could take shelter in my bones! his former brother spoke. Lestat couldnt believe the words because they brought back some painful memories. He was becoming angry at Doneghs tirades, especially as Donegh continued to speak the anger in his voice seemed to continue to intensify and the movement of the shadows in the room became more erratic, more sudden, and more unnatural What the f**k did I do to deserve a single bit of that!? You stupid drow, you know damn well what you did to deserve your fate! You taped into forbidden arts, you sold your soul for power, you destroyed the on the day he went nuts on the village it was the f**king general who sliced her head off.
You f**ker said Donegh, his voice now becoming calm and evil, his eyes gaining the same evil glow they had one of them got what they deserved. All those stupid , drunks, thugs and , every lives of some and ruined the lives of countless more, and most importantly, it was you killed our mother! said Lestat, getting just as angry as Donegh. Have you forgotten how I used to get beat daily? How when I turned to you, my own Donegh was right. Lestat cringed, he knew and matured greatly, seeing the evils he was once part of.
They had been kids then, and Lestat had explored the world since brother, for help not only did you refuse to help me, but you helped torment me? But they were just stupid the horrible deaths you made them suffer? Lestats voice was calm and more understanding. Sure they beat you up and picked on you but did they deserve to die back down, but Donegh was way too powerful for such tactics to work now. He knew that if they were kids he could intimidate his brother and force him to kids, like you were.
Yes they me than I ever did to them. In fact they probably caused more pain to years, I gave it to them all at once. The only difference is they spread it out over several did. replied Donegh. or the leader of the holy order that came before you?
Then smiling he added Did they ever find the body of that general wrist, their eyes were gouged out and their chests were cut open. It was a gruesome sight, their bodies were nailed to a tree by the In addition to that their intestines were wrapped around their necks, alive and awake during the whole ordeal said Lestat, the image of the murders still sent shudders down his spine. It was not a pretty sight and the worst part was that the look on their faces suggested that they were each the opposite effect on Donegh.
But the description seemed to have and in their skull a strange symbol was carved. The dark elf seemed to be happy, do with the bodies? he asked. And tell me" he asked "what did you warriors funeral. We gave them a as if he enjoyed the description.
We burnt their corpses and spread their ashes into the wind so the winds would guide them to the eternal rest Lestats voice was seemed said Donegh now laughing heavily with joy that murder was a ritual I learned. I hate to tell you this brother but neither of them are in the after life body so it never leaves. It binds the soul to the to fill with grief; he had liked the two elves he was talking about and didnt think they deserved the fate they had suffered. By spreading the ashes you literally tore those must be in.
I can only imagine the pain even want to know what you are. You are a sick and twisted monster; I dont their souls into countless pieces. Lets just get down to business so you will leave and I don't have to brother now had, he would have just attacked him. If he wasnt so weary of the new found power his
Alright, lets. look at the sight of you said Lestat, now restraining a ton of anger. I came here to take my experiment to happen. Sorry, not going I never will, he stays with me replied Lestat firmly. Hes my apprentice, unless I say he goes back to you, and Tarry Whealer back replied Donegh.
The vampire lord had begun to like the Whealer become the sadistic necromancers little pet again. There was no way he was going to let Tarry pity. Thats a livelike vampire, and despised his brother. I was so sure you would say yes the I had already dark superiority and happiness to his voice.
Sucks for Whealer said Donegh with an air of in a bright flash of black light, he was gone. He did not give his brother a chance to reply however, because sent one of my best creatures to retrieve him for me. Lestat was now more worried than hoped that what ever it was Whealer would have the skills needed to handle it. Who knew what kind of horrible creature Donegh had sent after the blind vampire? He only the many way points that dotted the treacherous place.
Back at the famous mountain, Tarry sat huddled in one of ever for his new apprentice. The blizzard had hit hard but didnt had known to seek shelter. That was how the blind vampire started falling faster, he had figured there was a blizzard coming. When the winds turned violent, the temperatures started dropping, and the snow turn deadly for several hours.
Grunting as he got up the vampire started trying shake but it certainly didnt help make it much more bearable. The shelter may have saved his life from the horrible storm had made him terribly cold, to the point that his leg and arm hairs were laced with micro-thin sheets of ice. Even lying in the warm coffin, his coat wrapped as tightly around his body as he could get it, the powerful storm all of the freezing snow off of him. I f**king hate Salvar, no wonder the Black Desert seem bearable.
This makes the damn heat of wait to be at the top just so the journey could be over. Less than barely over a day on the mountain, and the blind vampire already couldnt they call it Frozen Hell. To Tarry, Salvar had certainly things better, no matter how badly he wished it would. Still just standing around cursing his luck wasnt going to make on that mountain, a 16 once bottle of human blood, and headed out drinking it.
Tarry grabbed the closest thing he would likely have to a good meal while he was earned its various nicknames. The good thing about Salvar storms is after one, things were exceptionally pleasant, at least in Salvar) the snow was pacted firm and the ground was relatively smooth (most of the lose snow and rocks had been blown off the mountain by winds of the blizzard). The winds had calmed down to the point they did little more than ruffle Tarrys black leather jacket, the temperature was only about 30 or 40 degrees blow freezing (a hot summer day to calm down and his pessimistic mood began to lighten a bit. As Tarry walked, in the strange way that he walked, his mind began compared to the rest of the weather is Salvar and today was no exception.
The fresh blood that poured out of the bottle and down the vampires wanting throat seemed to ease side to avoid one of the few pine trees that grew on its surface, he began to feel relaxed. As he walked among the gradual slope of the barren, rocky face of the mountain, only occasionally stepping to the wasnt going to, especially since he was completely unaware that one of the minions of his former master, Donegh, was lurking somewhere on the mountain. Tarry had yet to encounter any of the so called dangerous creatures Lestat had warned him about, and the vampire was beginning to think he him, as a fresh drink of blood often did to most vampires when they felt stressed. So for now, everything falling snow, were obstructing the soothing rays of the sun but mostly everything was good for the vampire.
The air was cold, his stomach was mostly empty and the dark gray clouds, responsible for the steady stream of his mind wondering, as he followed the beaten trial aimlessly up the mountain. So, since nothing was trying to kill him at the moment, the vampire felt was good. It was after about 3 hours of this kind of walking, as the wind was starting the other side at the base of the hill that caught the vampires attention. The hill its self was nothing special, it was what was about 50 feet down on in all, were below.
Several men, about two dozen to pick up again, that Tarry came upon a the crest of a steep hill. Some were telling stories, some were doing their chores, and steel weapons, made clear the fact that they were vampire hunters. Their equipment, which mostly consisted of steel armor, and various assortments of forces of several vampires, male and female, all bound in heavy steel chains. But as Tarry neared the crest of the hill, he picked up the life others were just standing guard and lying around.
These vampire hunters, didnt hunt to or to do heavy manual labor. The males were likely forced to become soldiers, work, though the it wasnt uncommon for them to be raped viciously by the hunters them selves. Female vampires, being unfertile and all, were prized possessions at sleazy houses where they were forced to kill, they hunted to enslave. Images of his past came flooding invaded by the horrible alien conquerors.
Images of his home planet when it was camps and herded people like cattle. How those retched things had built concentration into the vampires mind. Images of the way they would force people to have sex, in order to reproduce and how they note deeper in Tarry than words could describe. All of these images and memories struck a personal because as far as he was concerned there was no alternative.
Snarling, Tarry didnt make even the slight hesitation in making his decision, would kill people to harvest their muscles, skin and vital organs to create biomechanical slaves and soldiers. Drawing his blade he silently vowed, that these vile hunters when the men werent active and they certainly werent now. The air around the camp had a lazy sort of feel he should have gotten a lot of attention from the guards. As Tarry slid down the hill on his boots with his sword drawn, would not see live to see the next sunset.
If they were smart they would have paid enough attention to his fellow comrades at arms, it was what Tarry would do to him that would alert them. But none of the guards did, except for one of them, but it wasnt the guard that would alert his fellow hunters that there was somebody coming down the large hill. Tarry noticed the guard as he got up and tried to shout to get ready from the inevitable attack from the enraged vampire. So before the guard could do anything Tarry nailed the many, crude land mines that were hidden in the snow to keep unwanted intruders out.
That sent the guards stumbling about screaming in pain, only to step on one of the as snow, blood, skin, and pieces of bone and organs all came raining down upon the camp. There was a loud blast, a very loud, almost gut wrenching scream, all of this was followed by silence, poor in the face with ki blast. Now the rest of the camp was and wrist guards actually managed to arrive at the base of the large hill a little before Tarry did. The next two guards, both of which were armed with basic steel short swords and wore iron chest plates, shin steep slope of the hill and landed on one of the guards.
Unfortunately, that did them little good, because the blood-lusted vampire kicked off the active and aware of Tarrys presence. With a quick stomp, Tarry crushed gargling sound as blood filled his mouth before dieing. The poor victim was only able to let out a quick left other men momentarily stunned. This act of reckless, brutal violence apparently the mans wind pipe.
They had never expected such a violent, vampires who didnt know how to fight. No, they were used to dealing with, weak the second guard, killing him instantly, before the dagger was brutally ripped out and holstered again. Thus the guards barely moved when Tarry jammed one of his daggers through the left eye socket of effective retaliation from a vampire. Of course, while the guards wanted time to take in what just happened to one about three yards away from him.
The vampire quickly rushed over to the nearest cross bow with about 10 iron bolts loaded into it. This guard was an archer, wielding a basic oak and stainless steel three of their comrades, Tarry had no intention of giving it to them. By now the shock of the previous murders had passed and pure, unadulterated fear, aided with harmlessly off the vampires delyn chest plate with an oddly satisfying clang before landing in hard packed, snow. The man with cross bow screamed wildly and fired three shots at the charging vampire, all of which simply bounced livelike vampire snapped his wrist, took his crossbow, and unloaded the seven remaining shots into his chest.
The hunter would not have time to fire any more shots, because as soon as Tarry reached him, the large doses of adrenaline was sinking in, overload the senses and emotions of the guards. Four men killed, in just over Tarry was causing with in them took over. By now that fact combined with the fear and adrenaline vampire out for revenge any more. They didnt see him as a simple a minute, if even that.
No, to them he was a slow and painful death, he was dead corpses all over the ground, he them they couldnt possibly win, they ran. So instead of fighting a fight that fear told as fast as if they could run. They dropped their heavy weapons and equipment and ran was pain, he was suffering, and he was a monster that they couldnt possibly beat in a fight. They didnt think about how they were going to survive the that had so easily killed four of comrades.
They just wanted to get away from the monster wanted to stain the white snow red with their blood, didnt chase after them. And Tarry, despite the intense hatred he felt for these men, despite how badly he cold, icy tundra of Salvar with out their supplies. The bloodlust he felt was now leaving him and he realized that freezing or starving to death in the lands of abandoned camp and before he could think about how he was going to help the captured slaves, the ground under his boots erupted with fire. But as he was heading back to the tents, to scavenge any food and any items of interest that may have been left in the now began to stir.
Wounded but barely, Tarry Salvar would be a slower, more painful death than any he could administer to them, so he let them run. If the blast had hit him directly it would have meant death to him; times it was harder than some of the weaker metals such as copper or tin. The snow in Slavar was deep and often times it was frozen so much that at ice, though from the heavy burn marks on the bottoms of his boots a good chunk of heat had hit. The majority of the blast had dug deep into the snow and Tarry was mostly hit with the resulting shrapnel of instant, burning, unbearably painful death, but the important thing was that it didnt.
As the vampire stirred and started to get up, and as he brushed off the ice and his minor cuts and were to listen closely they could hear a sizzling sound in it. The voice was low and heavy, yet it seemed powerful and if somebody Doneghs second in command. It was the voice of Nodre, burns began to heal instantly thanks to his regeneration he heard a voice that he was all too familiar with. Nodre was easily one of solid muscle, Nodre was easily a very intimidating figure.
At a towering 9 feet tall and over 800 pounds of teeth and a massive wing span (about 20 feet to be exact) all covered by bright red scales. Nodre had a body similar to a gargoyles complete with a long slender snout, several rows of razor sharp Doneghs most successful experiments. Nodre was originally a fire demon, but when he ran into his chest, legs and arms. Nodre wore a titanium plates on swords (by human standards) with serrated edges.
At his side were two massive steel broad Donegh he was modified to be similar to a vampire. Good, your back alive said the creature. Donegh said to try and bring you with you. Im not going back alive.
Im through working for that lunatic said Tarry it? Im done being that f**kers pet said Tarry cutting Nodre off. I said through, finished, done, kaput! How many ways do I have to say from the slaves he had just helped. In the background Tarry could hear a gasp his voice showing a lot of agitation. Nodre was a monster like they had never seen before and they were feared so for a creature such as Tarry to show such disrespect towards something as clearly powerful as Nodre was almost unthinkable to them.
These were vampires, who had been taught by countless beatings, nights of starvation, binding chains and cruel punishments that power was meant to be respected and more than a toddler throwing a temper tantrum. Nodre snorted as if the blind vampire was little obviously intimidated and humbled by the mere sight of the powerful creature. You dont understand maggot said the fire demon, with a cruel sort that decision. Only he makes to kill you, to teach you your place.
He told me that if you resisted I was allowed of tone in his voice you dont chose to leave Donegh. So Im telling you now, either come back with me alive or demanded the fire demon. So make your decision now! the chilling calmness it often had. Tarry stood there unflinching as his voice regained Ill make you come back with me as a corpse.
Unlike the freed slaves, the livelike vampire was not scared of Nodre nor did the livelike vampire. Go f**k yourself said fate as far as Nodre was concerned. With that last insult Tarry had sealed his he respect him in the slightest bit and his answer reflected this perfectly. The massive fire demon had done everything his master asked; he had given Whealer the option to go any other way.
Nodre was glad it didnt pathetic enslaved creatures that worked for Donegh, yet Donegh seemed fascinated by him. He had always hated Whealer, thought him no better than the rest of the come back alive and had offered to take him back, but the livelike vampire had refused. Donegh had given Tarry immortal power and respect, but the livelike vampire showed no respect or appreciation for it. The slightly demented necromancer had given him a chance for revenge and a chance for it and insulted him.
In fact Tarry hated Donegh for life, and increased power. To Nodre Tarry needed to be taught a lesson livelike vampires insult with a verbal response. Nodre was not going to dignify the headstrong offenders skull instead of saying something back, this case would not be any different. Unlike Tarry, Nodre didnt have a sharp tongue and usually reacted to insults by smashing the in respect, a hard, violent and painful one.
Nodre never said anything; instead he grabbed one of his large the blow came down and crashed through the snow and ice. The livelike vampire evaded the attack skillfully by quickly jumping backwards as situation, or tried to anyways. Tarry quickly took advantage of the swords from his side and swung downward at Tarry. While Nodres sword was temporarily stuck, he tried to run under the massive demon and wedge one, if not both, of his twin daggers between blade and smashed Tarry in his delyn covered chest with a powerful knee.
As he was about to deliver the possibly fatal stab, Nodre let go of the but it was still enough to crack two ribs and toss him in the air. The bulk of the force from the attack may have been absorbed by Tarry's delyn chest plate the bright red scales and into the belly of the beast, but despite his enhanced speed, the livelike vampire was not quick enough. While Tarry was in the air Nodre proved he was not the stupid, clumsy brute Tarry had mistaken him to be ice coughing blood. Tarry smacked hard into the noticed the face of the cliff was cracked already and a bit shaky, a good blast might topple the whole thing.
The pain was further amplified as several small bits of ice cut into the back of his hands and neck, but he also by skillfully grabbing the livelike vampire and throwing him hard into the side of a massive, nearby ice cliff. Nodre was now feeling but was unable to because his master liked him. For so long he had wanted to kill the sarcastic vampire, parts jealousy, and well hatred. His hatred for Tarry was equal confident and .
It had taken Nodre a long time to garner the favor of his master enough to Tarry and now that the fire demon had a chance to kill the livelike vampire, he was going to enjoy every moment of it. The fire demon also hated almost everything about Tarry personally, from the livelike vampires caustic personality down to the way he dressed, Nodre just plain hated the severely wounded livelike vampire. Nodre laughed with delight as he approached get the rank he had, yet Tarry seemed to be favored by Donegh almost immediately. As he lifted Tarry by his head he smiled and laughed, he livelike vampire fired two consecutive ki blasts into his eyes.
Unfortunately for Nodre, his good mood was cut short as the livelike vampire a good 15 feet through the air, but Tarry wasnt done yet. As the blasts erupted, destroying the demons eyeballs, Nodre screamed with pain and threw the was going to have all sorts of fun with him. As he sailed roughly through the air he fired his remaining cliff and detonated on impact. The blasts smashed into the icy the cliff to give in.
This move caused a large part of four blasts at the cliff behind the fire demon. The result was a chain reaction at that caused most of the cliff to topple over was crushed alive, because when the livelike vampire landed, he landed on his head and was knocked out almost instantly. Tarry may have been victorious but he would never witness his victory, or enjoy the sounds of Nodres screams as he that demon killed him. Wow, I thought for sure and crush the fire demon under thousands of pounds of ice, snow and rock.
Ive got to hand it to him, he has of that demon? Did you see the size say. Big ones you some big ones Ill give him that. I wonder if hes as good in he began to stir.
As Tarry heard these voices, process and he was soon awake and on the alert. A sudden cold stream of wind across his bare chest quickened the bed as he is in battle. He noticed that below him was not the cold, frozen ground but a semi-soft cot, next to his bed in a folded pile was his cloths, the regenerative properties of his body. His wounds were now completely healed, thanks to felt a dull throb in his head.
As Tarry began to put on his belongings, he armor and weapons and around him were various vampires of different races and genders that he could only assume were the slaves he had freed. The cold temperatures of Salvar, which were hardly kept out by the tent at all, also seemed to amplify and bring attention the slaves were still watching him and he began to experience another feeling, awkwardness. But it wasnt until several seconds later, after he had gotten dressed that he noticed with the awkwardness he felt being clear in his voice. So I guess I owe you vamps one, huh? he said, to his stiff joints and the sort of phantom pain he felt from the wounds which had already healed so rapidly.
As soon as he spoke those words he felt me came a horny sounding female voice. Hero there is something you can do for older male vampire and Tarry felt the female figure get shoved roughly off of him. Get the hell off of him you came the angry sounding of voice of an a female body press seductively against his back. Youll have to excuse Selma there; shes a bit of a seductress worry about thanking us.
You dont worry have to should be thanking you. Hell after what you did, we and seems determined to sleep with every swordsman she meets. Most people would flattered by but Tarry wasnt like most people. Some might even take advantage of it, praised he didnt like getting a lot of attention.
Even when he did something nice and he was being that kind of thing. He didnt like praise, or crowds, or people making a big awkward, and often stupid. Such things made him feel this made him worry that people would think he was going to try and milk the situation. At times he tended to get a little paranoid about what people thought about him and things like deal out of things he did, good or bad.
Uh thanks I guess but I dont really need anything said the vampire really wishing that some of the slaves would stop crowding around him like was chuckle from the male vampire. For some reason this elicited a loud map maker, my specialty is Salvar and all its various mountains and what not. As a matter of fact I do, I work in Asaraka zor Vampira as a some sort of hero or celebrity unless you know a way to get to the peak of Asaraka zor Vampira, I dont really need much. In fact these hunters captured me on you can call me Todd for short.
My names Toddembol Lagnuture IV by the way, but along the fastest route yet discovered. After breakfast Ill show take you there my way to Asaraka zor Vampira. Tarry smiled, having suddenly been put in a much better great. Todd that sounds the way.
My names Tarry by mood thanks to this new turn of events. Breakfast at the camp was an odd mix of things, were limited and breakfast was fairly short much to Tarrys relief. The hunters were apparently going to town away from the mountain, so supplies breakfast was not much, they were able to leave the camp pretty quickly. Since neither Todd nor Tarry really enjoyed the company of the other slaves and mostly beef with spices and some cold water.
As Tarry followed Todd for several minutes along the icy face of the Althanas at all. Todd wasnt like 90% of fight, and never experienced any kind of traumatic, horrible life changing experience. The mapmaker had been born a vampire, had no interest in learning to mountain, the blind vampire found himself beginning to like the mapmaker. Yet despite this the vampire many places had all sorts of weird stories to tell.
Todd was a great traveling partner because he had traveled to so down to earth and thought about things in a very logical way. The man was also quite amusing, if not slightly dull, but he was very was only slightly dull. It was after several hours of walking and small talk vampire lords, said Todd with a very matter-of-fact tone to his voice as he led Tarry down the cave. This my lad is one of the few entrances to Asaraka zor Vampira that most vampires, dont know about, even the with it I dont suggest traveling much with out an escort you could easily get lost and never be found.
Word of advice, this city is contained in several miles of caves and what have you, until you get very familiar that the duo came to a large cave. Tarry nodded as he listened to inside a mountain, so he didnt doubt a single word of it. Todd seemed to know what he was talking about, considering that they were literally of night vision and Tarry was blind so it wasn't a problem for either vampire. The caves were vast and very cold, there was little light but Todd had developed a kind the elder vampires advice.
What interested Tarry the most was that he was picking up to live in some of the water pools in the caves. Todd informed him that it was mostly various bugs and crustaceans that liked the big one were cleared out by the vampires long ago, leaving on only relatively harmless grunts around. Todd also told him that there were probably still some smaller, weaker ice demons in the cave, though most of all sorts of smaller life forms with his spirit sense. Finally after several minutes of walking and small talk, the duo came upon them he turned to his new friend Tarry.
Todd walked over to the doors, but before he opened Asaraka zor Vampira did you? said the mapmaker curiously. You never did tell what you why you were going to a large, double pair of liviol doors that were reinforced with titanium. Im going through the whole much cheerier and less accusing Well then let be the first to say. So youre a mutt trying to redeem himself? said Todd his voice suddenly becoming Todd as he opened the large doors.
Welcome to Asaraka zor Vampira my friend said redemption process, said Tarry. Please note that this part vampire of the high elven breed stood in front of a large restaurant. Back at Ettermire, the capital of the famous dark elven lands of Alerar, a she had seen when she went to Shanleh, way back when she was human. The style of building reminded her of some of the exotic looking, Japanese style buildings is not yet finished.
In side the building she could hear loud music playing, sorts of drows and vampires talking and laughing it up. Bright light shined through the various windows and she could hear all and ranged from extra sweet, to overly spicy, to just about everything in between. The smells that were emitted from it were just as exotic as the place itself a new style that was becoming popular, called jazz. On the roof of the restaurant was a sign with large, bright named Isila.
The vampire herself was about 165 pounds. She was 58 and weighed red and orange, neon lights that said The Flaming Sword. She was quite attractive by most standards, with good facial features, smooth even slightly attractive females, though the one Isila wore was useful for far than attracting the eye of perverted males. She wore a tight leather, outfit that covered most of her body, such things seemed to be the latest trend among was also resistant to most basic, low level magic attacks.
It was specially made to allow a ton of flexibility; it skin, a decent breast size, long brown hair, and silver eyes. On each of her gloves there was holster to read clearly in the light emitted by the restaurant. In Isilas elegant hands was a note, that she was able she felt cold. Despite the balmy night that contained an elegantly crafted steel dagger.
Doneghs temper was legendary among those that served him dread she felt at what she was about to do. That was why she felt so cold, it was because of the into the room where customers waited in on padded benches to be seated. Sucking her fear up with a deep breath, she opened the large oak doors, and and the note was sure to anger him. Outside of the restaurant her senses my have caught whiff of the smells and coming from the restaurant, her mind couldnt fully concentrate on worrying about the task at hand.
While at first the female vampire felt slightly overwhelmed, she quickly found that with all that stimulus about 511 that was very skinny and quite handsome, with green eyes, and black hair that was gelled back, wearing an expensive black, silk tuxedo. With the newfound confidence she gained because of that, she walked over to the yew podium about ten feet away behind it stood a dark elf sounds coming from the place, but inside such things assaulted her almost relentlessly. How can I help? asked the drow in a see Donegh Verameshi. Yeah, Im here to Miss Isila right?
Ah you must be polite, if a bit practiced tone of voice. Then come this you. Verameshi is expecting room to a door that was labeled V.I.P Only. Isila was led by the drow through the main dining way.
It was one of about eight in the whole restaurant that was female vampire opened the door and walked in the room. Taking one last look at the note, the now slightly nervous fine oak table with several seats and about three silver candles on it. The room itself was incridably fancy, with bright red carpet lining the floor, a reserved for special guests with lots of gold to spend. The walls them selves looked a lot like those of the rest of the restaurant with several with eccentric feel The Flaming Sword was so famous for.
All in all the whole room at the same fancy mixed were still pink (this didnt surprise Isila because she knew that when somebody lived as long as Donegh had, they often developed rather exotic tastes and interests). Donegh himself was at the end of the table with a glass of white wine and an exotic meal of live baby rats that were so young they pictures of various famous performers, including an autographed one of Brock Rundrgen, the famous rock star. Donegh himself was a drow and wore a basic tuxedo that was neither was bright green (both the strange hair color and eye color came from several experiments Donegh had performed on himself). He was about 61 and skinny yet muscular, his eyes were a kind of swirling flame orange and his long hair informed me that you have something to tell me, Said Donegh sounding impatient.
One of your underlings (Isila was one of the toped ranked vampires that served Donegh) overly fancy nor expensive and seemed to be enjoying his meal. It seems Nodre, your second in command, was killed just two days ago by the renegade Tarry well dont you my dear? said Donegh laughing. I love it when a plan comes together so him to be furious. This surprised Isila, because she expected Whealer, said Isila, the fear of her masters reaction with being subtly revealed in her voice.
She was after all one of his six elite and had heard nothing of I dont follow you. What do you mean sir? his britches, as the saying goes. Nodre was growing a bit too big for any sort of plan and as far as she Do'negh liked Nodre. He desired to overthrow me and to let him go.
I felt it was time to get an idea of what Mr. Besides for my plan to work I needed take over my plans. Whealer was capable any of the other six were aware of a thing. If you dont mind me asking, what plan sir? Neither I nor will tell you this: Tarry betrayed me for my backstabbing half brother and theyre both going to learn that theres a price to pay for angering me.
Thats because I decided not to inform you six until you needed to know, and right now you still dont, but I like you my dear so I of. As Donegh spoke the shadows in the room seemed all too close to reality. Isila shuttered because she knew that was it would not be good for Tarry or her former lover Lestat Verameshi. Shaken a bit she left the room, knowing that what ever Donegh had planned to dance and come alive with anticipation.
Back in Salvar, deep with in one of the many icy caves under the surface of Asaraka zor and the map-making vampire named Todd (short for Toddembol). Inside the caves were two vampires, the livelike vampire Tarry Whealer only about five feet tall. Todd was a short vampire, who was Vampira a loud creaking sound could be heard as two large, titanium reinforced liviol doors swung open. His hair was dark, blackish brown human breed so he could survive during the day.
Like his friend Tarry, he was a livelike vampire of fat or out of shape either. Todd was a little chubby but not overly and his eyes were green. His face was covered with a thick beard to help keep in the heat and block out Salvar's biting cold. He wore a thick coat, boot and pants that were laced with goose feathers they had seen a lot of travel (and they had).
The short vampires skin was tan and his boots definitely looked like that rivaled that of any dwarf. On his back was a basic leather backpack that contained all sorts of various vials of ink, hand axe and even that was used more for chopping wood or food than chopping opponents. The only thing that could be called a weapon that Todd contained was a basic oak and steel a smile that a rare smiled crept up on the face of the blind livelike vampire. As Todd opened the doors and gave Tarry his first welcome to the hidden of the vampires, pens, paper, charts, maps and books, as well as a few basic rations of food.
The feeling of achievement was one that he hadnt felt since Tarry killed his first Invader (that was what over and that the ritual would be a piece of cake. Though Tarry wasnt yet officially redeemed, the he felt sure the worst was the eyes of vampires all over Althanas, and ceased being a mutt of the race. As far as he knew it was only a matter of time before he redeemed himself in the aliens that had invaded Tarrys home planet were called) way back before he came to Althanas. The doors opened up into a rather long, yet surprisingly narrow hallway and Tarry and and the lay our of Asaraka zor Vampira, a subject the mapmaker was very well versed in.
As strange duo was walking, Todd once again started on his one of his lectures about the history that caused several of the caves (the city of Asaraka zor Vampira was not an actual city, but actually a series of interconnecting caves and passageways that served various purposes) to collapse. According to Todd, the reason the doors led to such a narrow hallway was because a several thousands years ago, according to the scriptures he had read, there was a rather large earth quake Todd each found that they each had to turn sideways to squeeze through. The hallway was once one of the where the vampire lords or the vampire generals would make announcements that the general vampire public needed to hear. It used to lead into a larger cave that was the former that served as a sort of central area, oak door that looked as though it hadnt been used in ages.
Sure enough in just a few moments the pair of vampires came to an main entranceways into the city. There was no lock of any shap or size on it, and various fruits, vegetables and spices, not to mention several casks of water, wine and or course blood from elves, dwarves and humans. With a slight push Todd opened the door and carefully stepped into the next room, which was now a storage area for basic meats, be careful and tripped over an open create of dried and salted beef. Todd was followed by Tarry, who being blind and all, didnt realize he needed to the handle and hinges were all made of basic bronze.
There was a loud crash and thud as Tarry knocked over the oak create and some heavy laughing on Todds part at his friends buffoonery. This noise was followed by several loud curse words from Tarry and of a doorway? asked Tarry angrily as he got up. What kind of idiot leaves a f**king create lying in the middle fell face first into the hard, cold ground and spilling the contents every where. Well this is a food where the vampire lords and generals made announcements and stuff?
I thought you said that hallway led to the main area before the earthquakes. I said it used to, storage area, responded Todd. Werent you paying any attention to what I of this area collapsed. When the earthquakes hit, much proving to small to hold the various enough goods to last the general population that lived here at the time, answered Todd with a sigh.
There was no longer enough room for more than a few vampires to gather, but at the same the current storage area was becoming full and was was saying while we were walking here? He actually sounded a bit frustrated at Tarry for Alright fine. mild anger he felt towards Todd for lecturing him like he just did. Dont blow a vein responded Tarry with his usual sarcasm that only slightly masked the not completely listening to him the first time.
To the blind vampire it sounded as though Todd was reprimanding him like somebody would deal. Its no big Todd who apparently noticed the resentment in Tarrys words. I get like sometimes when people dont listen to me responded a small child who spoke out of line, it was not something Tarry liked. Todd was a rather pacifistic vampire and liked to trying to quickly change the subject.
So whos youre sire anyways? asked Todd no longer present in his voice. Lestat Verameshi replied Tarry, the anger and sarcasm avoid potential fights or arguments when he could. So youre the one everybodys talking about, said Todd as he opened the door out of the storage area, into another passageway, like the last one only it Tarry as he followed his friend. What do you mean everybodys talking about? said hundred years or so to sire an apprentice.
Lestats the first vampire lord in about six or seven was in good condition, and frequently used, it much wider (about four feet to be exact) so neither Tarry nor Todd would have to walk sideways. Needless to say its stirring up a lot of controversy say some things to you about it. Dont be surprised if a few of them besides itll probably do some of those conservative tightwads some good. Dont worry, after spending time in Raiaera Im used to dealing with controversy among some of the older more conservative vampires.
Thats the sprit, said Todd with a chuckle by the way do you itno I dont. Now that I think about ran into me before you got here. Then I guess its a good thing you know where in this place you were supposed to meet Lestat. Yeah said Tarry with a slight unnamed part of Salvar, Isila, her master Donegh and five other vampires, walked along a narrow and dangerous path long the icy mountainside.
Back outside in the lands of Salvar, deep with in one of the many mountain ranges in the northern part of an unexplored and all part of Doneghs six elite. Like Isila the five vampires behind her were laugh I guess it is. Like Isila her self, they all wore tight specially designed black leather suits that were engineered ideas at times and they were all very dangerous, but that was where the similarities ended. They were all loyal to Donegh even if they didnt necessarily agree with the necromancers tactics or on they were forced to walk single file.
Because of the winding, narrow path the group was traveling with a combination of magic and science to allow full flexibility as well as protection. Naturally Donegh was in front, and his newest second eyes, and standing at 64 and weighing over 280 pounds he was easily the largest of the group. Standing directly behind the female vampire was the large, muscle bound vampire with long black hair and emerald green drop his real name for some unknown reason. The vampire went by the name Samson, having chosen to in command, Isila was right behind him.
Samson had been born in Haidia and like many of those that lived in Haidia, he had natural talent for swordsmanship, as well as incredible strength even for a Haidan. Samson had once been a great soldier in the demon army, which was where he learned was discovered that quite frankly he was a bit of a nut case and was actually thrown out for being too brutal and violent. With such things going for him many thought he would achieve great things in the army until he was actually put into combat and it was considered a monster and a demon even before he sided with Donegh. After being thrown out Samsons life fell Haidia ever was, in exchange for complete obedience, it was an offer that Samson quickly accepted.
Long story short, Donegh promised to help Samson return to glory and become greater than any body in was a large, delyn broadsword holstered. On each side of the warriors waist there to pieces, until he met Donegh. Behind the massive figure of Samson was one of the few vampires on the planet already been in the last years of his life, his human life anyways. The reason Borton looked so old was because when he was blooded he had and learned a good deal of magic.
During his lifetime, Borton had been a great scholar that actually looked elderly, carrying a four-foot long staff of liviol, name Borton. Borton could have died a wealthy man remembered for good deeds, but like many before him when he got really old and felt that death time was relatively unknown, that necromancer had been Donegh. One night he learned of a necromancer, who at the the money he had made over the years (which amounted to quite a substantial sum) as well as provide the necromancer with the knowledge and power he had. After seeking the twisted drow out, Borton confronted him and asked Donegh to use his powers to make him live for ever, in exchange Borton would give Donegh all was not far away he began to get scared and he looked for a way to prolong his life span, and he found it.
Donegh agreed to this with one other the living equivalent to selling his soul to the devil and hastily agreed. The desperate wizard didnt realize at the time that such a promise to Donegh was had Borton blooded. The next night Donegh condition, Bortons complete and total obedience. Borton himself was a scraggly looking vampire with messy beard, a bald head, a missing left eye, a hunched back and a arguably the most mysterious of the six.
The next vampire in line was the tallest and the name Cash because his real name was impossible for the most creatures to pronounce. Standing at 65 was the slender yet well muscled lizard man turned vampire who simply went by few missing teeth it was easy to underestimate the old vampire despite his powerful magic and skills with his staff. Cash was from ancient times and was actually the first creature Donegh it was obvious he was once a very good thief. Cashs past was completely unknown, even to him, though with his skills of strength and speed as well as to help make sure Cash stayed loyal.
Donegh had turned Cash into a vampire to give the lizard man a deadly boost successfully revived completely with out being turned into a zombie. Cashs weapon of choice included a basic steel, double-edged knife that was and bright blue eyes. The lizard had no hair he was blooded, he also had a wide variety of other deadly skills. Aside from aside from the basic speed and strength enhancements Cash had gained when capable of cutting through materials several tiers higher than it.
Cash could move so silently that he literally made absolutely no sound, he could spell that could turn him completely invisible. In addition to all this the lizard knew a the twins Vor and Rup. The last two vampires in line were pick the pocket of virtually anybody and could walk on walls and ceilings. The twins didnt look their brown eyes and short brown hair weren't anything special.
They were each a little chubby, and only 510 each, and what made them dangerous. On their backs however was like much. Each twin had a composite long bow two-dozen barbed, titanium and trakym arrows. They also each held a quiver of about greatest elfin archer green with envy Vor had great earth magic and Rup held vast power over the wind.
Of course they werent completely similar, because in addition to having accuracy with a bow that would make event the made of demon hide and ulder. The twins also each had a silver short sword for when things got too got wiped out and over run by bigger, and better groups such as the Bandit Brotherhood and other smaller rival gangs in the city. The twins had once been part of a lowly street gang in Radasanth called the Dark Eyes, a gang that would never amount to much and in the group had potential. The twins however, unlike most others close and had enough skill to hold their own against most basic warriors.
They had already become pretty accomplished as archers, and new enough basics to hold their own in a sword that they met Donegh. It was by sheer coincidence hit men and werent making much money. At the time they had been sort of freelance fight, plus they had just started discovering their powers, when the Dark Eyes disbanded and fell apart. Donegh spotted their potential and offered them a substantial sum the twins ever regretted making.
It was an offer neither Donegh nor and unforgiving, even for Salvar. That day the climate seemed particularly harsh of money if they started working for him permanently. The wind was violent and intense enough that the even the mountain itself moisture that touched the frigid air, no matter how briefly was almost guaranteed to freeze. The temperature out side felt as if it was hundreds of degrees below zero, and any somebody were to walk into unarmored that it would dice them to pieces like thousands of flying razor blades.
The ice and snow was so thick in the air, and being blown so fast through the relentless winds that if seemed to shake and quiver from the pounding force of the wind. Then on top of all this there was the ear splitting screeching of the wind that seemed of seven to reach the end of the mountain trail. It was as if Salvar itself didnt want the sinister group sign of the sinister things to come. If anything at all the bad weather was a to rival those of even the banshees that were in so many myths and legends.
