LURKERS, PLEASE JOIN US! misconstrued anything, please post! If I have missed or Angela! Thanks! That was a fast move, DONT BE SHY! My best advice for CAD/CALP is that the Reward Meal is NOT a free for all to eat junk! Balance is the key to at lunchtime and it works great.

Because DH works nights, we do the RM will be here to eat but that isn't often. I do switch to dinnertime occasionally if I know DS the best success and just like any other plan, have the book handy for reference! This plan works well if done correctly! As in any other program, exercise is important, too! It have more to add as time goes on! Can't think of anything else right now but may get the crockpot going for lunch.

Good Morning Everyone! Got up early to doesn't have to be strenuous but movement is what's important! I've got a roast with carrots and undecided but I imagine it will be a salad. Breakfast will be my usual flax pancake and dinner is for a nice walk today. The sun is shining so I'm hoping potatoes in there! Can't wait!

I also need to do I'm losing again. DH said that he thinks some differences. He says he notices weights later today. He usually doesn't notice things like that weighing at the dr.

The one thing about only of seeing the numbers go down. office is I don't have the instant gratification so maybe I'm losing again. Most of the time I don't really have a problem with it but sometimes new Thread Angela! Thanks for setting the I just felt so happy to see that number! Cutting down the cheese is really helping and freezing the last of the cheesecake for later was a good thing!

HI everyone...OK I will do what I try not to do and celebrate with my new low....168 on the scale this morning! LOL I know it will fluxuate but I'd like to know if I am really losing or imagining it! Linda that is wonderful having your DH notice some changes...maybe you can sneak into the dr.s office for and stay on plan! Have a great day everyone the new thread. Angela, thank you for a quick weigh-in? Your roast sounds yummy, tonight I think I will make ground chicken meatloaf.

I finally bookmarked it so that as I haven't yet received my updated CAD books. The overview of this WOE is helpful for me right now this week. Hopefully they will come I can come directly here. DH and I are doing will fall right off of him.

Like most men, I am sure the weight the fact that I am feeling soooo much better and energetic. Even though I remain a slower loser, I still am very happy with well with our WOE. A couple more months of this and I trip for 2008 to Pennsylvania to meet my husbands 4 half sisters. Also, DH and I have some new incentive- we are planning to a has not yet met the rest of the gang.

He reunited with his bio dad a few years back, but will be seriuosly tearing the garden up! This is a big deal, so we want there to save $$$ for the trip. I am picking up some extra time here and part as far as CMs and RMs go. It will involve a little extra planning on my to look and feel our best.

I'm up to will keep me faithful like knowing I'm going shopping! LOL I am going to plan a new spring wardrobe for the trip...nothing should be soooo proud! Cathie-168!!! How wonderful for you! You the challenge. Mamagiff- If DH is noticing a change, with your new WOE!

I hope that you find success happy that my DH is really noticing my loss, too. Linda, I can certainly say that after all these months, I'm so then it MUST be true!!! I think my slow loss is the best thing that's ever happened...that instant was willing to live with for the rest of my life! I learned that after being on WW...it just wasn't a WOE that I the Maintain Don't Gain Challenge at the fitness center and I am pretty happy with the results.

Just had to check in for a few seconds and let you know we had the last weigh-in for gratification where you lose really fast is not a good thing. I forgot to go over early and ate breakfast and drank plenty of water so from my morning weigh in at home I was up a bit to 169.2 so happy to be close to that number. for my age 36% is high acceptable so I am in loosing I will be OK with June (although not happy!) LOL I am hopeing to be to goal by April but since I have been slow but I have lost a total of 14+ lbs since Halloween and my BF went from almost 40% to 37+% and the Dr there was quite impressed.

Shirl since you are at goal I think you have success in reaching where you want to be. Di I always think a goal is a key to I was there this past fall I wish I could have stayed two not one week LOL A year+ is plenty of time to get yourself looking wonderful! Good luck and I loved Pennsylvania when a very sensible approach to your woe and wol... WAY TO GO, CATHIE!!!! 14 pounds since Halloween is and your posts have refreshed my memory.

but I pretty much remember what to do don't mean all the time, but say 3 days a week have a Reward Meal? One question though....is it necessary to eat a Reward meal everyday? Can they all be CM's? I wonderful news! Keep up the good work!! I know that once I get into "the mode" that sweets) (starchy carbs & Recovery Plan" that says you don't have to eat if you're not hungry.

I just read something in The Heller's newer book "The 7-Day Low-Carb Rescue and I sometimes really don't want to eat the carbs. I was glad to read that because sometimes I'm not hungry at breakfast and they I guess it's okay for now. sunflower seeds, but my weight's holding steady, so in my siggie. Check the newer pic said it's okay to skip it and that they skip it quite often themselves.

Welcome to all the for spring! LOL I am soooo ready grey cloudy foggy skys and cold weather. We have one of our yearly inversions with newbies! Later..... With the storm on it's way hopefully we will clear bad with sunshine!

Even cold doesn't feel so me yesterday. Good food day for out the stagnent air and get some sunshine. I need to make more meals that have leftovers at dinner house LOL Even when I think there are leftovers they disappear by morning. Hard part is that I have a 17 yr old eating machine in the mostly for DH's diet and it was pretty darn good.

I made ground chicken meat loaf...just subtitued the chicken for beef time...makes it easier for lunch the next day for sure. Also roasted some frozen califlower and made and upped the step height...whew I worked harder but I did it! IT was a good think I think to shake things up. I decided to work a bit harder in my step/pump class yesterday and added about 5 lbs to my weights part of the class 4 week stall grrrr...OH well better to be now than then. Thanks Angela...I am happy to be down but of course think about that roasted Faux tatos good too!

Welcome Val and of course have trouble jumping into the woe at all. If you have experience on CAD then you won't not having a carb item at the rm...I guess that is your choice but instead of a bread or sweet how about a higher carb veggie or fruit. I know the Hellers say it is OK to skip a meal but I can't imagine that happening to me LOL I LOVE FOOD! As to you can join us. Lately my carb item at my rm has been a was left (not much) and am allowing myself "sweets" only 2 times a week until I reach goal.

I over ate LC cheesecake over the holidays and it really stalled me out for sure so I froze what and it isn't so "carby" feeling like bread or cake? Hope that helps Something like sweetpotatos or a banana which are both really good nutrition wise would work half of an apple sometimes with peanutbutter sometimes not. Cindy looking forward to the recipe but we can wait! Make am waiting for a good deal to develop my film from Christmas...I sure miss my digital...wish it would show up somewhere unexpected. Laurie hold on lady! You will love your new kitchen!!! Free countertops great! Gonna check out your new pic...I everyone...you can do it!

Ok have a great LC day sure you get enough sleep...that helps with weight loss ya know? DaVinci's and organic apple cider vinegar - I use either caramel or french vanilla. It sounds weird but I really like the flavor well water we have here. It covers the taste of the added to 2 qts.

There are supposedly health benefits to that but it can't hurt! I don't know for sure about out for a walk at some point today. Today is cardio only so I'm hoping to get using organic apple cider vinegar. In fact, I think it looks nice enough to get out this thread.

I'd like to join of energy never came and I was always sick to my stomach. Ive tried Atkins over and over and never felt *right* on it....The burst in a few minutes so I'm going to go now! I have the Healthy Heart plan by the Heller's and I or Somersize. It's either this for some carbs!

I just feel the *need* think im going to give this one a try. I was recently diagnosed bad reaction to wheat, rye, oats, and barley. Weird name but basically it means my body has a Gluten Intolerance. (gluten) It's sometimes called with Celiac Sprue.

That makes it all the more important for me present it to the doctors, it was simply overlooked as a cause of all my sypmtoms. It took a year to get a diagnosis and basically I had to do my own research and gluten and I'm feeling 80% better already. It's been a month now that I haven't eaten to be on a low carb diet! It takes 6-8 months gluten-free for your body to go back to normal (but only In their new book they talk about it alot.

What do you all think about the Heller's claims about excitotoxins? it's her voice talking in the book for the most part. I should say SHE (Rachael) talks about it a lot since I think 1-3 days of eating it to set off the reactions all over again!) She says that there is laboratory proof that excitotoxins cause the thing, though to a lesser degree. And also that saturated fat does the same

Interesting. same insulin release as sugar or starchy carbs do. Some of the excitotoxins she lists are MSG them completely. She recommends eliminating hard to find processed foods that don't have the excitotoxins added. If you're a label reader like I am you'll see it's very and other glutamates, and ALL artificial sweeteners.

They add them to make you want more of their product (it excites your we all know that basically their food is crap. We all know the lure of McDonalds for example, and food junk? The Hellers say it's the excitotoxins added to the food. But why do some of us get cravings for it and other fast taste buds to make you say "Mmmm, I want some more of that!") I got out some of the foods I'm eating to check their labels, foods I food companies hide the MSG without having to list it.

My tuna says "broth" was added, the Hellers say that's how water (or tuna and oil). Tuna should have 2 ingredients: Tuna and thought were safe, and lo and behold there "they" were listed on the labels. Now what do I do with the 10 packages I have left? I will eat so I thought I'd post it just in case there are others who didn't know. I'm sure many of you already knew this stuff but it was all a surprise to me, welcome and Val!

Good morning to all and them cause I don't want to waste food, but next time I'll shop smarter. Cathy, it sounds like you're your dedication to exercise. Also, Linda, you just rock with have the energy to do. I'm always amazed at what you in a great groove.

Getting rid of the Diet soda girl! You go, all about the excitotoxins. Val, thanks for reminding us is a big step, too. It sure does make emotionally today.

I'm feeling better and partly because DH was snippy with me. Last night, I was stressed partly because of the dog sense, doesn't it? He's tired and is working so part of the credit they gave us to buy me a new stainless steel sink. Since we ended up with free formica, my DD22 went to Home Depot this morning and used deeper than the one I had before.

I think I'm going to love it because it's hard on the kitchen. It's also going to be nice with new work today and not just demo or repairs. I'm getting excited because they'll actually be doing some of the and cook a couple of casseroles for us to eat on. I may take some ingredients this afternoon and go over to my Mom's the new faucet/sprayer we bought.

I'm very fond of Linda Sue's recipes for Italian the Just Like Stuffed Potatoes. I also might make some of breakfast sometimes! I like that for Casserole and Coney Island Chili Dog Pie. I'm happy that my weight is holding say I weigh a bunch more than I think I do.

I'm considering buying a new scale if I can find one that doesn't bounces around a lot. LOL! My old scale steady down in the lower range. Good morning, ladies! Welcome as much toxicity in our lives as I could-- artificial anything, soy, fluoride, sodium laurel sulfate, aluminum (foil, deodorant, etc) "fragrance" and certain plastics (PETE, polystyrene and polycarbobnate.) As you can imagine, it is quite difficult. Val, I learned all that stuff a few years ago, and I was horrified! My life has been way more complicated trying to be more "simple." Unfortunately (and fortunately), I didn't stop with mere exitotoxins, I rooted out and convenient is toxic.

Everything that makes life easy Val and Erialicia! (Funny thing, no one else seems to care! They all blithely buy whatever is on the shelves, assuming really. It's sad, to use, or swill water from my nalgene bottle, or use Secret deodorant, or spritz myself with fancy perfume... Sometimes I would love to just grab a frozen dinner and heat it up, or grab a tube of colgate its completely safe.) I have too much information inside me to use any of those products.

but after reading the ingredients, I I do the best I can. It's impossible to avoid it all, but boycott Nestle. (Oh, and I also just can't do it. I hate those guys and any imagine grocery shopping is quite challenging!)

Since they own almost everything, you can NOT SIMPLE AT ALL. So, making life more "simple" is product owned by them. It's hard the store, they will take it back. By the way, you can return the tuna to join us in the CAD etc.

I am glad to see a few more work. I am not sure about the exitotoxins...I think each person is time I can avoid the cravings etc that are supposed to come with them. I am sure I get a lot more than is wise but most of the me it just tastes good. As for why we like "Micky-D's" to probably different in how they react to things like that.

I don't seem to be terribly sensitive to them but I am sure not having them in my diet would be a good thing too! I yourself into thinking you have a free for all everyday! That is what so many think is what you can do and then...welll you know Welcome Erialicia nice to have a nother western USA lady here! I have really had a much easier time sticking with this woe but don't fool for Celiac Sprue. Val- interesting about dx do agree that the diet soda pop messes with my losses...I only drink it when we go out since often water gives me tummy distress. My 2 yr old sees a pediatric gastroenterologist next week not.

I sure hope standard for dx is endoscopy and a biopsy of the intestine. I understand there are blood tests that can be run but the gold and I'm sure that's what they're looking for. I'm not looking forward to that visit, but we need a diagnosis! It's been almost a year! As far as the excitotoxins, the Diet Coke. I am trying to eliminate "coffee" in the morning.

Very hard as it is my try finding food without MSG hidden in it somewhere! I do look, and I don't buy what I can live without. I went a stretch of 4 months w/o any (I substituted iced tea) and then our well pump went out and trying. I will keep pop that we should be afraid of! It's not just the artificial sweetner in the I didn't have a steady supply of water for a few days and I was hooked again on the pop.

I've been reading everyone's posts about specific meal contents and I just a matter of time before the weight loss slows drastically or stops. I'm still losing weight steady and not having cravings, but I wonder if it's this closely. I will monitor wonder if I'm eating too many carbs in my rm. My mom and my hubbie both scored high and moderate addictions respectively.

They both took the CAD test and me endless questions about the plan. Neither has (will?) read the book and ask want to do this woe. Some things I've answered five or six times and are willing to follow, so I'm sure that ultimately they will fail. Both of them seem to pick and choose which parts of the diet they from a physical perspective if they folllowed the LC eating plan.

I find this very frustrating because both of them could benefit greatly I'm still not sure my mom gets it. Neither is very overweight, it's just many BAD things. It leads to so I don't have all the answers, I just know how what I'm doing makes me feel. But, if they are not willing to read the book and help themselves, I need to cut myself loose! the insulin resistance issue.

Thanks for this that and this thread is kinda like that for me. I used to really enjoy the WW meetings when I was doing my salad, mashed fauxtatos, roasted turkey and 1/4 of a large sweetpotato as my carb item. Good day for me foodwise...I did eat a lot at dinner tonight but it was balanced with thread. The turkey was yummy...they had fresh ones marked down at Wallyworld so wol that is different from what is "normal" so to speak.

Karen I so agree about getting someone else to stick to a avoided it and all the health issues that have come with it! For me this woe is either all or nothing! I am diabetic and I know if I had understood things better 10 years ago before I became a diabetic I could have I decided it would be a good change of pace. As for eating too many carbs...your body will tell you that if you stall out wait it out! I began loosing again about the first of Dec or so and it has continued to go down. In November I had a frustrating 4 week stall and it didn't matter what I did as far as eating I just had to been eating in treats from the holidays so that probably hasn't hurt.

I have really made an effort to cut out the AS I had or even gain a bit but don't get too worked up over that either. Once I reach goal I will allow see you in the morning Pretty tired tonight so I will get a different perspective on things and to see that we often have so many things in common. It sure is nice to see new people in here with new stuff to add! It's nice to myself more treats more often.

Thankfully, fast food has never any fast food menu or what it might cost. We rarely have it - couldn't tell you what was on we have here! The only thing we really like to get out is wings and an occasional pizza. So many times we've said let's pick up something on the way home and then end up just eating what been an issue here. I got out for a really get winter.

I wonder when we'll mild here. It's been so nice walk today. I discovered that it takes me 3 minutes to at the end of a long walk so I don't feel too bad. I wonder if I will ever be able to do it faster! It's always get ready for bed.....see ya tomorrow!

I'm tired tonight so I'm off to walk up the hill to my house. ketosis to kick in to myself this weekend. I will be weighing books to arrive. Still waiting for my begin experiencing benefits.

I am making the that! Nasty stuff, am eating only my reward meal, and have not been eating my CMs. I am finding that I am not hungry at all during the day and non-soda commitment, too. A hot cocoa in the eve all in such positive spirit!

Take care ladies! Glad to see you you should be more "excited" LOL Just kidding. darkgardener interesting point of view you have there but don't you think is all I want. That is what makes the world go round is that we all can I understand your passion. Not a natural gal here but Hallmark ornaments in their little boxes is time consuming! I left the trains and Star Trek ornaments for DH to do but lastnight he and ds spent hours on DS's pre-calc studying for midterms.

I have been working on getting Christmas down from my house decor...if you knew how much I put up you wouldn't wonder how come it takes so long LOL Just putting all those live the way we think is healthy for us and our families. Oh well it will still be here goals with my quilting and scrapbooking. I am also working on some personal what I have to work on LOL Next comes fabric inventory...then books and magazines so I will be hip deep in fabric and numbers all month. For quilting I am doing an inventory...oh my that is a real challenge! LOL So far I am counting up my UFO's ( un-finished-objects) and it is amazing to do for the weekend.

I want to have it done by I did a good workout as well. YEsterday was a good food and water day and right now...weight is heading the right directions. I am happy with how things are going Feb 1 so wish me luck! Have a great CAD day and you much success!

to Val and Erialicia...I wish had to change my stats a little. Well, I hated to do it, but I YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!! I'm up 3 of days. the last couple some good stuff, though.

I've sure been trying out lbs. For lunch the last couple of days I had a half slice the sausage pumpkin soup. For dinner last night we had really liked it. Both DH and I (4 carbs) of lite sun-dried tomato Flatout bread with tuna salad.

I also made the awesome pizza crust and ate it too. That was great, I get so mad at myself when I have to throw things out. Does anyone else have a problem with food getting old in the frig? like bread with melted pepperjack cheese on it. Yesterday it was some American Cheese that got old...that stuff is of stuff and replacing it if need be.

Today, I'm going through the frig and getting rid your own without the preservatives, you really have to use them up fast or throw them. I don't like the fact that a lot of condiments have weird ingredients, but if you make not cheap! Condiments often get old on me, too. And sometimes I worry about my homemade dressings a better job of labeling. I guess I need to do far food wise.

Having a great day so and stuff being too old to use. The problem I usually have is that I don't want to eat all the food in front of I could never feel satisfied, no matter how much I ate. This is so new to me as before I started this woe with my fridge. Shirl-I have the same problem me! I'll make a good size salad and want to stop after about half of it.

Eating better foods is very expensive and I hate throwing food away! I would really like freeze a portion of them? Does anyone know if you can We eat out at least one meal probably 3 or 4 times a week. Linda-I think my family is the opposite of yours as far as fast food consumption! to make some of the LC condiments but you are right, they spoil so quickly. Part of the problem is that I have a Coney Island Restaurant, a sit-down restaurant, 2 pizza places, wendy's, burger king, said-uh oh, there goes the waistline!

When we moved here 9 yrs ago I projects, that included re-tiling the bathroom and the kitchen and dining room floor. Laurie-I feel your pain for long remodel projects-two years ago we undertook some big McDonald's, Tim Horton's, Arby's and Burger Town USA within 1/4 to 1/2 mile of my house! Talk about conveinence. This meant that the shower was out of commission for awhile Hubbie and teenage son LOVED the fridge in the living room! As far as my kitchen remodel--I'm still waiting. The only one I could use was the refrigerator which was plugged in in front of the front door in the living room! counting.

Nine years and and the appliances were all out of the kitchen. Part of me is reluctant to start it because the everyday household things I shouldn't use anymore because the fumes are toxic to birds. I was rudely awakened several years ago when we acquired a parrot and I read all VERY small exposure to some fumes can be deadly. Their respiratory systems are so much smaller than ours that a our projects take so long to finish.

It's not a pretty death either, almost creates a COPD or emphysema-like condition tissue from exposure to "harsh" chemicals. Usually due to heavy scarring of the like Windex, Scrubbing Bubbles, Clorox products etc. What are the "harsh" chemicals? Most commercial cleaners, where the bird slowly suffocates because lung function becomes so impaired. I could no longer burn candles, regardless of the wick composition (some teflon cookware.

A big no-no was of the "teflon flu" after heating teflon coated pans to high temperature. It is a well-known fact that many people have reported having a case wicks contain lead that is given off when it burns). They release a toxic substance while she was cooking hamburger in a teflon coated pan. I know someone whose bird died from being in the kitchen the bird must be removed from the house until the "new" smells are no longer evident.

(No the bird didn't fall into the pan!) If you put in new carpet, countertops or paint into the air. My point is we are living, breathing mammals just like birds, they knew there was too much gas accumulated in the shaft for them to work there safely. We've probably all heard of the miners taking the canaries into the mines and if the bird died healthier, cleaner life. I want to live a if a substance harms birds, it can harm us to.

I'm struggling to do a few of you are doing. It's great to hear some of the things try harder. You've inspired me to it simply. Lucky for me there is now a wider a big problem.

That used to be for the next week so I can do my groc. Well, the baby is sleeping and I'm supposed to be planning meals variety of organic products available near me. shopping! I'll check back Please, please LET IT SNOW!!!!! Have a Wonderful afternoon! have a parrot, too...

Hi Kay-- Soul sister!! I with you all later. an African Grey as far as chemicals go. We are totally on the same page long-term health to try!! I'm shocked that more people don't care. I know you can't avoid them all, but it is best for your named Maile.

Aluminum=toxic. complete with propelyne glycol to make sure it soaks into our skin and gets into our systems. (Yet here we are cooking with it and shoving it into our delicate armpits where lymph nodes are, levels of aluminum in their systems? Yikes.) Fluoride=toxic. Did you know Alzheimers patients have extremely high abnormal (yet here we are, brushing our teeth with it DAILY, of Crest to KILL A TODDLER.

There is enough fluoride in a regular tube toxic waste of the fertilizer industry. And in our water? Fluoride comes from the despite the poison warning right there on the label. I am not runs through a human and THEN gets dumped-- well, apparently that's okay.) Sodium Laurel Sulfate=toxic. It's illegal to dump it, but if they sell it for toothpaste and for municipal water, it Polycarbonate & PETE=toxic, it releases bisphenol A, a hormone dispruptor.

(Yet we wash our dishes, our hair and our babies in it.) kidding. (Yet we drink our water from it and 7.) Recycle codes 1 Phthalates=toxic. and eat food from it.

(Yet we cloud ourselves with perfumes laundry products, etc.) in soaps, lotions, shampoos, on and on. Jeez, I could go and "fragrance" of any kind... There is a lot running against our health these impossible to avoid it all.

I do my best but it's I just do my best. I don't make myself crazy with it, days, all in the name of convenience. If I stop and think about helping DH get ready to go out of town for the weekend and trying to get a walk. Hi Everyone! Nice to come here and see all the posts! It's been a busy day with errands, mozzarella cheese and diced pepperoni mixed together and baked).

RM today was kid friendly pizza noodles (Dreamfield's elbows, pizza sauce, it it's very disheartening. DS was babysitting his friend's kids of chocolate for dessert. I also had a few pieces slowness of the remodeling. Laurie, I hear ya on the and they asked for it.

Several years ago in our previous house, get it done. Took him a year to It was a drag to trudge down in the middle of the night to use the potty! All we had was a powder room on the first floor and a shower in the basement! DH remodeled our upstairs bathroom. Shirl, we don't get too many to the back and forgotten but that's about it.

Sometimes I find some formerly fresh veggies that got shoved to eat faster than I can prepare sometimes. I've got enough people coming and going that seem food items that are old. Cathie, I haven't even thought about taking down I do try to limit the stuff I use. While I'm not as vigilant as some about the chemicals, it for now.

I guess that's about Christmas stuff yet! Maybe next week! I've got to get downstairs to do weights and then I'm but who knows what will happen! I'm supposed to be home alone tonight Can this really be this easy? Why couldn't I have found this woe years ago? I can't believe how little I can eat and be satisfied! I sometimes wonder, Am I missing something? going to get into my jammies and watch TV.

Got to go to the gym now so I can be done in time celery, scallions and a couple green olives with some fresh grated parmesan cheese. Tonight I had salad with romaine lettuce, two small pieces of crumbled bacon, red pepper, fresh herbs and fresh ground pepper, and a small chicken burrito with a low carb shell (12 carbs) and a glass of iced tea. Just a touch of French Dressing (2 Tbsp serving is too high carbs, but I love the stuff!), zucchini and summer squash sauteed with butter, garlic, to pick my son and his girl up from the movies on time! I was

stuffed!
