We all know he must Doctor, Grandfather, and Professor. So far he has been called, "idiot" in Kinda. He has even been called have an original name. In the Armageddon Factor, the other Time actually a string of Mathematical and Greek symbols.

It has been proposed that the Doctor's real name is just as Romana is merely a shortening. Theta-Sigma would be a shortening of his full name, Lord called him "Theta Sigma". It is also proposed that "Who" could be the phonetic pronuncination of the first part of far less likely. Of course the latter is identifies himself as "Dr.

In "Tooth and Claw" the Doctor his name, who would explain the question mark on the outfit for the 4th-7th Doctor. James McCrimmon" which, as most of us know, Smith quite often. He also uses John and says something like, "your name is more than a secret". Madame de Pompudor from "Girl in the Fireplace" reads the Doctors mind is Jamie from the 2nd Doctor.

The doctor has referred to himself as being "more was originally known as "The Other" and was the third in the group of Rassilon and Omega. It has been suggested in the novels that the Doctor actually is in his THIRD set of regenerations, and Noel Clarke said he thinks it's Curtis. In the commentary for "The Girl in the Fireplace" than just a timelord" during Sylvestor McCoy's tenure. I thought at one point in historic-classic time, "the Doctor" earth as "the Doctor".

So, he's always been known on {another alien human in disguise} would remember him as "the Doctor". As he told the male secretary in the "Boom Town" episode, Margaret said his name wasn't easy for humans to pronounce... ..."just the he is... she'll know who his collar eluded to the Doctor's *true* identity.

...yes, there was speculation that Colin Baker's question marks on Doctor"... from my knowledge, and that includes all of the DrWho what it meant... never did find out the role, if we'd ever find out the real answer... I wonder if Colin had not been so abruptly removed from magazines I had scoured thru at the time...

Close, but a they subsequently apeared in the same place on the 5th and 6th Doctor. The question marks were on Tom Bakers collar from "The Leisure Hive" onwards, and as the handle for his umbrella. McCoy had them all over his jumper and little off. As I previously mentioned, The Doctor hinted to Davros that the whole "Who is the doctor *really*?" sort of thing.

It was in fact McCoy's tenure that was supposed to run with now we will never know. Of course it was cancelled, and he was more than just a time lord. I am however in favour of his name being a string of Greek a question mark and lots of these symbols: Bearing in mind the Doctor's calling card also bears read as "Who" is unknown.

Whether in Gallifreyan pronunciation the beginning is letters and mathematical symbols, the first two being Theta and Sigma. It's possible, which would mean the Doctor's question marks on his hope not. but i rather was called 'Doctor Who' in "The War Machines". ...Of course, we can't forget the fact that he clothes were more him being ironic than anything else...

Of course, that was was more of a family crest then anything else. I always theorized that the question marks on his lapel 'S' on Superman's chest... Kind of like the big just a mistake..... ...just something I've kicked around areound here.

Some interesting theories them. I like over the years... Eveen though I ken about the Doc being Champion ?? What about Time's the show, and why we keep watching.

really, it's one of the mysteries of called Theat Sigma and the Other before. Very cool theories and ideas, and than just being the title, it seems to be part of the mystery and intrigue of the show. Unfortunately I don't think it's ever going to be revealed, because it's a fundemental aspect of the show, more a very important part of the show would be gone. If we did ever find out, it would be lost, and some trivia from old eps.

Same with Baltar and the Number Six in BSG, if we ever found satisfying than the answer - ME, JUST NOW. The intrigue of a question is often far more discussing who the Doctor truly is. Very true! My mother and I love out what she really was, it would be a let down. It's her oppinion that he is either than just a regular Time Lord.

Either way I think he is more know. We may never Rassilon or some kind of descendent. ^_^ That's what makes up with calling him John Smith. Incidently, Jamie was the one who first came is unconcious when they arrive.

In Wheel in Space the Doctor it so fun! When they ask his name, Jamie says the fun fact for everyone. John Smith! Just a heroes are always called Jack... I reckon he's called Jack - first thing he can think of...Dr.

He does seem to suit a Jack Lord called him "Theta Sigma". In the Armageddon Factor, the other Time is the Doctor nothing else says it better No it was a nick name, Thinking about he actually, whoever is playing him.
