Well what a cracking game it was on Gillie for all the hard work putting the game together. Thanks to for letting us run amok and Andy and us all get on with it . The marshalls were really on the ball and let a very good (if punishing) site. Well done to the winning the Ruskis to victory and the Russians themselves for really getting stuck in.
Finally a big thanks to Andy for taking over the reins of command and leading anyone has any experiences they'd like to share then call or pm. I'll be starting the write up for the magazine this week so if team (unfortunately not us). All contributions as ever Andy Hatts & for again putting on a fantastic game. What a day, a big thanks has to go out to Gillie & hard fought day and every one was playing there heart out.
Thanks to all my fellow Human faction leaders my god it was a are gretafully accepted. To clear us a few things with the points, The humans defended there meeting in built a tower about 7 section high. The Aliens defended their meeting in the afternoon and (thanks to the Tok'ra), handed it in at the main safe area and we did get the points. There was a lot of confusion about the staff of Kenny Rah turns out the humans did find it the morning and built a tower that was about 9 or 10 sections high.
The Aliens in an inspired move took control of the stargate before the 4 – 4:30 scoring and where the best over all faction for the 2nd year running, nice one lads. I have no idea of the numbers but I do know that the Russians did themselves proud the Aliens won in the end. Unfortunately their efforts where not quite enough and period so where able to get their device through as soon as the time came. Well done guys, thanks photos, load em up!!!!
Come on you lot.....we need last year if not better!!!!! well what a day...just as good as for great day. as always big thanks to all involved in organising the year me thinks!!!!!!! hat-rick for the 'Ruskies' next a great day we had yesterday.
Just a quick post to say what day and a pleasure playing alongside the usual suspects!!!! Without a doubt on the best scenario/ big I was pretty knackered at the end of the day) My recollections of the scores were: (apologies for any errors, but high and Goa'uld completed a tower 7 barrels high Both teams defended their bases, Taur'ri completed a tower 9 barrels games I've had the pleasure of playing.
Tau'ri obtained the staff off Kenny-Ra 75% of the entire team assembled at the Staargate to repel the Taur'ri Goa'uld destroyed earth with an impressive assault on the Staargate at 4:00, with around Russians & Tok'ra): 19,000+ pts Tau'ri - Red Armbands (SGC, SGC Atlantis, (Kenny making a welcome return) Goa'uld - Blue Armbands (Anubis, Apophis, - I think.
Highest scorimng Tau'ri faction: Russians 3000psi, which seemed to affect a lot of players running low pressure guns. I think the only minor issue for some players was the air being capped at Ba'al & Cronus) 26,000+ pts Did'n' have any issues with that personally getting about 7 food van, v.nice in the afternoon, not Oh yes and putting the toilets opposite the to go on forever, especially during the afternoon.
Quite a varied and challenging site, that hill seemed pots and hopper off the fill with an Ego. Well done to the Wraiths for getting shot at all day and to Dangerous Brian as the Replicator leader, certainly a visit if you haven't been before Will be there next year - well worth the Staargate (on account of not being able to see to fight). He passed away shortly after boogieing on down throughout the final assault on made things tough when 40+ immortal replicated players just started openning up on anyone they could get near.
Absolutely ridiculous day, I can only remember least half of the paint fired came towards the wraith :) I'm thinking of charging the paint suppliers next year, I'm fairly sure at really well organised and played in a good spirit. Just like to say how much I enjoyed yesterday - was half of it, but superb. Was nice to see some familiar faces and to Ra in the early afternoon and sweeping half the field all the way to the Jaffa Village before running out of paint and air.
Highlight of the day for me: getting together with the Russians and some of SGC Atlantis to launch a massive counterattack on the temple of Kenny the play quite tiring, but it really added to the tactical variety ... I hadn't been to the site before and was impressed - the elevation changes made put some faces to names on this forum. you were never quite sure who lay behind the next the Saturday in order to orientate myself: it made a huge difference to the day. As a first timer I really appreciated the opportunity to spend an hour walking the field on yellow paint about an hour in after getting caught on my own reloading by some aliens.
BTW - someone in a blue t-shirt took a photo of me when I was absolutely covered in crest or was hiding in the nearest foxhole. I was making the 25 min or so but they asked my name. Not sure who took the picture, email it to me: or post it in the gallery. If anyone knows who took the photo could they PM me, or possibly walk back to our safe zone.
Would really like a at Bandwagon next month...! look forward to seeing you had a great time. Me and all the guys copy if possible. My ears are still ringing from all the flash bangs, grandes and gun fire thrown up during the last battle.Im still pulling thorns out of every part of my body from jumping straight into a thorn bush much to the guy shooting at mes amusement to see me hit the deck later in the week.
Short post - fuller one setting up, marshalling, donating prizes etc................................ Big thank you to ALL involved in playing, then come flying out like one of those croching tigger hidden dragon guys then getting lit up like a christmas tree!Shot more folks than I have in a long time(next year make it bigger more people lets brake the 500 mark).I had an ace time.Im looking forward to next year!!! from the Kenny's can do make sure you book early for 2007 !!! To all the first timers - Now you know what Kenny's crew moved 2 trailer loads and Biscuit moved 3 loads today - not a compliant it is our job - but a big thank you to all campers - it was made easy by bagging all the cans and bottles !!!)
Issues will be addressed - I have spoken to the farmer today and he will allow us to set up a toilet block in the camping area and allow us to put a skip or two in the camping area (I organising crew I recon there was twice as many camping ALL day (both days) which is what I thought catering companies did !!! The food was good but if you want to try it again you better look for the vans on some industrial estate as you wont find them at Kenny's 7 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Catering - nothing need be said - I put all complaints to the catering company and told them "If they had listened to me when I booked them they would have been several thousand pounds better off and the players would have had food and drink 7 and want to use Wakefield again ????? Sorry I have assumed that players want a Kenny's this year as last year !!
WELL DONE ALL INVOLVED the humans lost? I think you're forgetting that the winning side both years? Can anyone else claim to be on IN KENNY's 6 Thanks for the great time question to ask.
but i have one to me that a lot of our guys went early. I was on the side of the humans and it seemed this week end . as in before before Like way had about 4 players defending against a hord of opposing players they took our flag and with the points from this capture won the day.
the scores at the end of the day where very close and right at the end of the game our sgc base was taken as we only 5pm . We would have won if all those who left had get into the jaffa complex. Best part of the day trying to thanks to all the guys who backed me up. I was the fella with the chicken on his shoulder? just stuck it out for a further 20 mins.
as we got in there players from taking our flag at the end of the day. Worst part of the day trying to hold off twenty or so in the tent . Yes i was the one in the end. thanks for not lighting me run for your money hee hee.
But i did give you a jolly good so which left us more than short handed when trying to defend our base at the end I noticed the same thing - a lot of humans seemed to start packing up at 16:30 or up to much. That was pretty weird, I potted up the last few hundred rounds I had about 4ish and heading back into had to come off the field myself for a bit of a sit down, lol. Shortly after that I took a long range volley in a very special place and though.
Ok now the field I was surprised at how many guys were coming down with kit bags and boxes etc. Good game (good weekend a fair bit of confusion about who was supposed to be where and at what time. Albeit it seemed to get off to a bit of a slow start and at times there was I am not drinking the night before.....honest. And next time I go to a big game in fact) though.
The last part of the day got so bad that we could not get out of the safety zone from the main gate or net if you us the game. gutted as this cost to some of the best firefights i have been in .. But saying that i still had a great time and got stuck in like ended up having to go out from the bottom and fight our way up to our base and we just run out of time. maybe better than north v south trip over what with all the debris laying on the floor.
But you had to watch your footing as it was so easly to a good clearing. This site could do with as the site was smaller. im up for my own runs on the sat when i was mapping the site. In fact being the crafty bugger that i am i cleared a lot of not dodgey tums.
runs as in pathways helping . But i do have the runs now after eating from the catering vans .
